Need /o/ advice
my car has very minor scratches all over the body, all clearcoat scratches.
I'm planning to get polish liquid, wax, and polish myself.
Don't have polish tool.
What is the best liquid and wax to use?
How much liquid is needed for the whole car?
General polish advice?

Buffing compound and finish with good synthetic sealant

there are different liquids, some are called compounds, some just polish.
Is compound more harsh? like sandpaper?
Here's a great video about removing clearcoat scratches

Since what polish does is even out the clearcoat by *wearing off the top layer of it* I just don't do it except if I just bought a car and only that once. The washing / waxing / cleaning process damages the paint more than dirt sitting on it ever could, especially if done a lazy way.

I have very light scratches, like high grade sandpaper mark. I should go for polish I guess.
another question, are synthetic sealants better than wax?

Dont do it by hand OP.
You're arms will fall off!
You'll need a cheap DA polisher and some medium cutting pads.
You'll want to go in this order using a new pad for each;
Compound
Polish
Glaze (optional)
Sealant (optional)
Wax
If you want to apply the wax, glaze or sealant with the DA you'll need a finishing pad.

Meguiars ultimate wash + wax > clay kit > ultimate compound > ulitmate polish > carnauba wax.
You literally can't go wrong.

I did my car this way by hand over the course of two days no problem. You must be a pussy.

I've done it both ways.
All I can say is ain't nobody got time for that.
The DA gives a better, more consistent result and is much faster as well as being far easier.
Dont let your pride force you into acting like a retard.

It's not pride, it's being a poorfag.
I can afford microfiber towels but with how much money I dump into my car I don't have much left for a DA, and I already did most of the legwork by hand so there's not much point anymore anyway. All I'll need to do is wax every 4 months or so which you should do by hand anyway.

'yes'... but it's the same shit.

>wash and wax before clay/polish
yeah ya dun goof'd. You shouldn't be using wash and wax EVER
>>14776748
implying the 'wax' in 'wash and wax' actually has any significant coating that will effect claying
>>14776768
It's time to stop posting. You clearly don't know what you're on about.

edit: especially if you're recommending anything other than gold class or soft wash for a meguiars wash
