I've had great cars, but I still want my childhood dream - a 2Gb Eclipse with a medium turbo like a GT2871R and supporting mods with no exterior mods other than a debadge, wheels, small front lip, and (depending on color) a painted-over center "taillight" piece.

By today's standards, those cars were ridiculously small.

I remember coming home from high school in 2003 with a new Sport Compact Car magazine on my front porch with Roy Narvaez's GSX on the cover and I was sold.

I'd love to swap a n/a 3-rotor 20b-rew into my rx-8. The chassis is so much fun, and throwing a NA 3-rotor in it would give it WOWSA torque. That, combined with getting rid of the turbos for a n/a tune would leave the car with just the oomph it needed, a nice booster for reliability, and would leave the weight distribution nearly unchanged.

And if I really wanted to turbo it, the 20b is pretty nice for that too, but I'd honestly be happy with ~200hp ~300ft/lbs of torque from a n/a engine and the peace of mind knowing I'm not at particularly high risk for having the thing explode under turbo load.

A chopped, slammed tube frame LWB first gen Chevy Van huffing to the drag strip on its stock engine, and when I'm there I start a motorized mechanism which opens the cargo doors, raises a big air intake in the roof and slides a J85 jet engine two feet out of the cargo area so that it has enough room up front to suck in air through the roof behind the passenger area, and then I run a few jet quarter miles down the strip and huff back home on the stock engine without police ever suspecting a thing. Right now I'm leaning towards calling it Astral Hammer and giving a deep black paintjob with heavy metal space airbrush paintings on it.

Yeah, but those aren´t LS4´s. LS 1 through 9 are all applicable, except the LS4, which is transverse, a PITA to fit into anything longitudinally. the LT1 and LT4, the newer direct injection models, are longitudinal though.

Do this over a LS for the sound and the revs and just because LS swaps are meme at this point.

Engine within 20lb of the Fa20, moving stuff to the trunk and deleting systems could get the weight down and get closer to 50:50 weight distribution.

Good luck fitting a V8 in the engine bay without serious firewall cutting and removing the boot. Make your dream a reality and look into the 2GR-FE V6 with a supercharger kit from the Lotus Evora S. Bolts in nicely and is a more common swap. Lighter block than the original 3SGTE too.
