I'm moving to Denver in a month. I know the Abarth will be fine this summer, but should I trade it in before WintersComing.jpg? What should I get instead?

They make Blizzaks for the Abarth yeah? Just get a set of steelies with the Blizzaks.
southern colorado here, my friend has one and it kicks ass with snow tires, shits cash would recommend

you should get out. denver is full nigger
You don't need 4wd or awd in Colorado, streets are ploughed and salted. If you like your Fiat then stick with it, if you don't get something rwd with a v8
hey fagguette, I just moved to denver. let me take pics of your abarth
Studded snow tires are legal in Colorado all year round. Mount some from November to April and you'll be fine.
However, watch out for the potholes. Colorado has some of the worst roads in the nation.

They actually do not use Salt in Colorado. They use another chemical, forgot the exact name of it but it's supposed to be better for the environment and for your car.

You have to go to the Flathead and Inline Nationals at Bandimere, I went about 10 years ago and it's still one of the coolest events I've gone to to this day.

They don't salt in colorado, at least not any places I've been, mostly sand and chemical anti-icers
Also plows aren't instant. If you are cool with staying overnight wherever you are while the plows have a chance to get all the roads clear then you won't need ground clearance or 4wd.

holy fuck thanks m8, I want to go to these events badly. I need to get a car out here.

they use gravel that chips the dick off the front of your car

Canadian here, just get some steelies and decent snow tires. That's all you need. You may slide around in a big storm, but just be careful and slow. Its not rocket science.
Also drove a fiat 500 with all seasons during a big snowstorm this winter and I can tell you that it fucking sucks without proper tires. So there you have it, good mid range winter tires will do. Also buy a snow scrapper/broom combo to clean your car in the morning. Shit sucks without one. And -40 proof windshield washer fluid. You go through a lot during winter because of all the salt and a snow and crap piling on your windshield. But you certainly don't need 4wd. It helps, but even that is useless without proper winter tires. In most of our provinces, its mandatory to run them from november to april. Not only do they stick better to snow, ice and slush, the rubber is rated for colder tempature so it dosent get hard and useless when the tempature dips below freezing.
But a 4x4 pickup im lo gear with good tires sure is fun to have, you can plow through anything.
