Yo whats up bros just installed this spectre air filter on my NA Z32. Pretty sure she can take a turbo Z easily on the highway now.
What cool power increase mods have you done?
>>14771684
Kicked your mom out of the passenger seat and shaved 2 seconds off my 1/4 mile time.
>>14771698
Civic down on power, eh?
>>14771684
Hey man how was removing that nose panel to get to the air filter?
t. Fellow Z32 owner
>>14771710
4x 10mm bolts, super duper easy
>>14771702
>busted ass old 300zx
>hurrr you drive a civic
>>14771742
Lmao, you claim you shaved off 2 seconds off your 1/4th mile by removing a single passenger

700 pounds will kill anyone's 1/4 mile time buddy.
Or get your mom some liposuction and a gastric bypass op.
>>14771767
Oh, that was the joke lol?

no fucking shit

Surely you jest...

Car:
Cold Air intake (+600 hp senpai)
Literally just did that one for the intake noise so it was a bit less boring.
>Bike
EGR delete, 10lb lighter wheels, 520 pitch chains/sprockets, Lightened front sprocket, lighter rear sprocket with +1t, CF bellypan (more for looks there), cat delete which is soon to become a full Bodis titanium exhaust system to cut out the muffler and save more weight, lighter rearsets, and a power commander 3 to fix the odd stock fuel maps. I think I need to change my ratio at ~7k RPM though because the torque spikes and it makes the front end jump up like I fingered the clutch going WOT in 1st.
>>14771838
>Literally just did that one for the intake noise so it was a bit less boring.
Thanks for understanding :--DDd
>>14771845
>implying
I'm disappointed that you didn't actually do anything to make a 300ZX fast. I drive a fucking base model Focus hatch with a 5 speed. It handles about as well as a 1st gen miata stock and pulls like a civic SI. You at least have something remotely sporty.
>>14771852
>implying
I'll be cleaning the intake up soon and a myriad of other (actually interesting) mods when I do the timing belt maintenance... Hopefully.
Before that, looking at suspension and handling before engine upgrades begin.
Hey guys im dodged caliber, im from the east coast usa and I just got my first car its a dodge caliber. Pretty sick whip that my parents got me for a graduation present. Can I put one of those cold air kits on my car? Ive heard they increase the horse torque by like 10-20?
>>14771852
xD a ford really? Their cars are such garbage idk why you would buy one over a dodge.
>>14771869
Stiffer springs and dampers should be basically everything, since they have more a of a GT setup on the suspension rather than real performance. If you're really cheap you could just go with poly bushings and some wider tires.
>>14771889
If you can't tell by the picture in the OP, I am pretty damn cheap.
Not sure if I want to go with wider wheels and tires first or springs and dampers first.
>>14771935
Go with springs because stiffer springs and dampers will likely eat your tires up a tiny bit more in corners. Once you chew through your set of tires save the wheels for winter and drop something decent on in the summer.

>>14771684
I just noticed how the air filtered is screwed in.. and now I am in horror/shock
>>14771987
g dang it, frick off retart
>>14771991
My friend and I thought it would be hilarious, and it was
Fun fact, the filter is attatched to the MAF sensor via a PVC 2" to 3" coupler, some screws, and some clamps.
>>14772004
omg I want to donate a velocity stack to you, but there is already a screw in the MAF now. lol
>>14772027
Kek, I have PLENTY of duct tape, I can patch those holes RIGHT up.
If I think it's necessary later on, I'll replace the MAF sensor and cheap autozone filter with proper parts and install.
I needed to replace my air filters for quite some time so my friend and I figured this was a good idea.
Cool thing is, and I'm not even kidding, the throttle response is ridiculously better for such a shitty job and cheap parts. I was incredibly surprised.
>>14772004
The intake necks down to 2 inches wide? Wtf... The 2.2L in my car has a 3 inch wide intake the whole way and is 0.8L Iess displacement.
I used to have a 300zx too, but it got rear ended at 40 odd MPH before I got around to doing any mods
>>14772072
The inner diameter of the intake is probably closer to 2.5".
The coupler is relatively thick.
>>14771838
>all that work and all you end up with is a bit of wheel hop in 1st
>not having a bike that will power wheelie in 3rd and still give a bit of a hop in 4th
>>14772354
>implying
It power wheelies in 2nd easy, and would probably do 3rd if I gave it a bit of a tug. It's just fucking sketchy when you break the rear loose accelerating out of a corner and since it's a literbike I tend to use 1st for really low-speed corners because lol90mph in 1st gear and I'm not a pussy. I just want it to be a bit more gradual like 2nd and 3rd are, rather than the crossover at 7krpm to feel like me doing a clutch-up
>>14772379
just think of it as a 2-stroke then and be mindful of the power curve
>>14771886
I like this tripmeme
>he fell for the k&n jew
>>14772766
This would be the autozone 30 dollar special my friend
>>14772775
So it filters air even worse than a k&n. That's even worse.
>>14772781
So what are ya gonna do about it pal?
>>14772069
yea stock system is bad.
The top solution is a selin dual MAF setup with a tune to match.
Amazing throttle response and decent hp/tq bump.
Although this is almost a waste on an NA :P
I'd love to still have it on my NA
>>14772825
Wow, that is satisfying to look at on a severely autistic level.
>>14772832
Agreed. I don't even own a Z or have any reason to be in this thread but I still think that looks awesome.
>>14771684
>Yo whats up bros just installed this spectre air filter on my NA Z32. Pretty sure she can take a turbo Z easily on the highway now.
no, it can't
>>14772991
the joke has been killed already dude
no one actually thinks this
>>14771838
>Literally just did that one for the intake noise so it was a bit less boring.
if it's turbo, that's all you got anyways.
>>14772781
are you on some sort of fucking hipster filter?
>imported filter from germany
>$650
>platinum speckled filter paper and muh german engineering
>sound proof design for added ponies
>only takes "premium air"
> installed premium air reserve in trunk that feeds to premium air to the filter
>4 MAF sensors for extra accurate readings
>adds 30+ hp TO THE WHEELS
>anything else is for le plebs
>>14773125
>premium air
oh wow, this needs to be a new meme
I used the JWT filter myself.
Also I have never seen a Z owner run their filter like this >>14771684
>>14773718
It's probably now the official /o/ 300zx filter setup.

It's like you guys don't even want to go fast.
