Well yeah, the entire point in a hard top convertible is the compromise. Might not be as great as a soft top with the top down but way better than a soft top with its top up.

Makes the prospect of buying a convertible in places with actual seasons more attractive.

I think it's stupid. It should have been a coupé all along. They already have a convertible, and now a car that is less convertible and will probably weigh more than the convertible or a strict coupé and won't be as stiff as a real coupé. Rear visibility will be crap compared to the NA/NB hardtop that has an overall excellent rear view visibility.

I prefer the look of the old Miatas over the new. The new Miata is like the kid who got built because he kept getting picked on for being gay. But he's still gay.
