Finally purchasing a one owner 560SEL in the following month.
downsides are
>it's fairly high km (190k km)
>is an 1987
>driver side power window doesn't work (easily fixable)
>body is roughed up but nothing big just Canadian salt otherwise no holes whatsoever
anyone know a fair bit about 560sec/sel?
Owner has all maintenance records to this day
additional information
>wants 1500$ for it
I intend to use it as a comfy daily and restoration project

Better become the neighborhood expert on K-Jetronic Fuel Injection or have a decent enough income to afford german car repair.

I have a lot of classic german car repair shops specialised with bosch systems and k-jetronic
otherwise, seems like there's a decent amount of documentations in forums to help out

I approve, not sure what you're looking for though.
I love them, i would love to have one, i probably will have one some day. Other then that, i don't know a whole lot.
Don't do this though, please. >>14745345
Saw one like that around town a while back, in a bit worse shape though. The guy looked scummy as fuck.
I have a 300 sel 1991 myself. Beautiful fucking timeless thing.
My friends wife fell asleep at the wheel going 65 on a freeway and rolled for like 300 feet and walked away with only a broken wrist.
I would highly recommend investing in some tools and find a place you can buy w126 parts from because it's going to get expensive going to a mechanic whenever something goes wrong with it.

Thanks for insight
I don't want to do any modifications to it, Primarily just restoring the body to it's original condition and maybe repaint it all black.
its a two tone dark grey and light grey plastic panels which I don't like at all
Also does it have head gasket leaks? It's quite an infamous problem with them.

It does leak a bit of oil as the owner says.
he adds a bit each month

Not sure if it's anything like my E class, but that might be a big job.
I know with the 3.5L in my E-Class it's metal on metal, with no gasket and it's an absolute fucking pain to work with.

they have headgaskets
I would think hopefully it's the valve guide seals which would be an easy fix but if it's a headgasket leak I am most likely thoroughly fucked but I like this car so much
