How many KMs is too much for a used car

i bought two cars with 300k km on them they where fucked.

sweet spot is between 50-150k anything over 200k is pushing it.

luckily my latest car only needed a couple of sensors and a tune for a maf delete 210k on it.

depends how the cars been treated and where its been driven try to get cars that sit in a closed garage on the highway.

Is there anything I can look for when I inspect the car?

I know that any rust in the engine bay and snowy residue on the battery are bad signs but the only car buying experience I have is buying a focus new from ford last year

Engine oil becomes black after a couple of hours of driving. Color is not indicative of condition unless it's got coolant mixed in.
