I'm pretty sure that the only armies that ever bought them were the Italian Army and the UAE.

No they designed only (it was built by a US company) a prototype military vehicle called the cheetah; which was a copy of the XR311 (the forerunner of the humvee), for the US Army.
Then they got sued and nearly went bankrupt.
The cheetah was rear engined and had a V8.
