What should I get as a first project car? Any gems out there that /o/ might enlighten me on?
Also post about your projects.

Something cheap that you won't be sad about not finishing.

This. And don't get a car that NEEDS an engine swap to be decent, so avoid D-series or F-series Honda's.
>>14714985
Anything more specific than that? If I found, say, an NSX that'd need a rebuild after a flood, with the body being all there for $5k, would that be a worth while project car? Or would I be better served picking something a tad more pedestrian for my first project car?
>>14714999
Really hadn't had it in mind to do a D or F Honda if I'm honest. There's so many cars out there I just don't know what is and isn't worth it to take on.
>>14715005
First project car you shouldn't spend more than a couple grand on it.
A flood rebuild is a big project if you're going to do it right.

That's a good point. Hmmm...I'll have to think more on it then seeing as there's not much here right now that's not just shit looking for a new home, as in a legitimately shitty car.
Wait. I know the perfect project starter car.

A Miata? 90's era? Could have potential. Unless I'm retarded and that's not what I think it is, which is always possible.

My granddad owns one, 2010 I think, I've driven it before, in fact it's what I learned manual on and I loved the fuck out of that car.
Then I got to drive my uncle's 3000GT VR-4 and nothing's felt the same since. Hitting 75MPH in 2nd seemed like something right out of NFS....
Regardless, I'll give it some serious thought. I'm a huge guy but if I fit in the 2010, I should fit no problem in the 90's models, right?

Last question while I'm thinking of it, where's the best place to find project cars? Autotrader? Craigslist?

Holy shit, thank you for the hookup man. I had no idea something like this existed, this makes things much easier.

Look for something that will have relatively cheap replacement parts. It really sucks when your held up on a project because you cant afford the ONE part you need.

What do you want?
Do you have a preference?
What do you like?
What do you want your project to be?
Do you want to restore a ricerocket to bone-stock condition (I recommend this, it's a VERY easy way to get acquainted with a vehicle, though some OEM parts are fucking cancerous to find.)
>Stock acura steering wheels from the 90's i'm fucking looking at you
Do you want to get an old beater and make her shine?
Do you want to buy a decent car and make it gofast?
Do you just want to hellaflush your shit up?

I'm 6'4" and fit in my dad's '95 Eunos Roadster, so I'd have thought so
An old Roadmaster sedan with the big boys engine. Try exchanging the slushbox for a Camaro manual. I heard this has nice results.

my '04 cooper jcw needs a clutch, is that enough project?
Datsun 510
Im thinking of buying an old volvo wagon for this.
