Genuine question:
Are there compact relatively new (2005+) compact hatches or coupes those don't look like a piece of soap?
Define soap
>>14711418
Aw, you know man, a bar of soap like what gets talked about here on /o/. Also I want a manual cause automatics are gay, it can't be pigfat, and FWD sucks too so there's that.
>>14711463
that's not me.
Well, something more squarish than modern camry or corolla, nissan or any korean car
Not sure if you're looking for "le edgy box car" style from the 80's, or if you just don't want a blob like a Veloster.
>>14711463
mazdaspeed 3, wrx, sti, golf GTI, Civic Si
>>14711557
imo Veloster is kinda soap.
Your call of "edgy box car" is correct desu
>>14711563
GTI is a blob of soap bro.
Civic Si isn't available in hatch in most places.
>>14711578
Then you won't find anything 2005+ in edgy box car form, soap was dope from the mid-90's onward. The only semi-non-soap cars will be stuff like Mustangs or Camaros, and they're not small hatches.
>>14711601
Well that kinda sucks. Cheers.
>>14711640
Mini Coopers might be the only option in existence, but they're pretty round too. Like a bar of soap that was dropped and one end got smooshed up.
>>14711402
If you want an old car, simply buy an old car.
>>14711402
>those American bumpers
>>14711664
I actually have an old car (25 years), and it sucks to admit, but there is a huge difference in comfort and handling between my car and new cars my friends have.
Maybe I just suck at driving and maintaining though
>>14711402
our kind of car is dead now
>>14711418
Dirty hippy get out
>>14711664
>old cars won't be available forever
What the fuck will I drive in 300 years?
>>14711588
You wrong , the ep3 SI is widely avaible
>>14711807
New suspension bushings and struts would probably help you a lot.
>>14711803
what's wrong bro don't you like safety
>>14711985
EP3 Civics weren't available in North America through regular dealerships, the only people who own them had them imported. We haven't been able to get a Civic hatch since the 90's, and apparently they're bringing them back for 2016-17.
>>14712005
>this
people think old cars are inherently shitty because normally they're driving an old, beaten down car
a 1990 M3 handles extremely well and you wouldn't know it from a brand new Mazda3 if you closed your eyes
but old cars are usually thrashed and so people just assume old car = shit
now if we go back 40-50 years...probably a little different story.
>>14712619
>you wouldn't know it from a brand new Mazda3 if you closed your eyes
It probably has less body roll and definitely sounds better, so you'd probably be able to pick the Mazda 3
>>14712602
>EP3 Civics weren't available in North America through regular dealerships
>I'm talking out of my ass and don't know shit about the EP3
>>14712631
I meant that figuratively. It would handle akin to a modern car. Obviously it's going to be the ULTIMATE DRIVING MASHEEN.
>>14712639
Not sure about America, but I know up here in Canada we were never able to buy any 2001+ hatchback Civic. It's been a longstanding gripe, and there's no good reason for it. If you wanted a Civic hatch here, you bought a fuckin EG.
>>14712701
>The EP3 Civic Si of the USA and EP3 Civic SiR of Canada was marketed as North American version of European EP3 Honda Civic Type R. Unlike other generations of the Civic Si, this Si was not produced in Canada or the United States, and it does not share a body style or interior with the USDM Civic (offered only in sedan and coupé forms) sold there. Instead, the 2002-05 Civic Si is manufactured in Swindon, England, and exported to Canada and the United States. The Si/SiR was the only trim available for the hatchback style in Canada and the United States.
>>14711965
Hahahahah!!!!HAHA!
Silly frogger.. Of course you will be FLYING cars
>>14712717
>manufactured in England
>exported to America and Canada
why the fuck would they do this
>>14712737
muh global economy
>>14712737
Honda of America probably didn't have enough money or didn't want to spend money on developing their own Si.
>>14712717
Canadian here, I have literally never seen a new hatchback Civic IRL, the only ones I even see now are rusted ones from the early 1990s. These things must be fucking unicorns if they were ever sold here.
Did they sell hatches in regular trims (like not Si)?
>>14712788
No, only came in Si trim. They probably only shipped to larger cities like Vancouver, Toronto and the like. Do you live in the middle of bumfuck nowhere?
>>14712748
>>14712766
>>14712798
No, I live just north of Toronto and I've never, ever seen one of these things. Ever. Then again, I don't really see a ton of Civic Si's of any generation driving around, I don't think they're very popular with Canadians. I see way more Mazdaspeeds and STIs driving around.
And then just regular DX/LX Civics that have been plastishitted and riced to the next level.
>>14712805
I see. Iirc someone in the Honda general lives in Canada and owns an EP3.
>>14712799
>wanting to pay 35% American Corporate Tax
I don't blame them.
Goddamn I love trade and global transfers of prices. Fuck the nationalist retards who think trade is war.
>>14712717
I have one, I rather like it.
>>14712863
>that dash mounted dildo shifter
>>14712915
Looks stupid as fuck but it feels so right
>>14712942
Oh does it ever look stupid.
Honda was never known for great looking interiors, but this is just plain awful.
>>14712942
That's pretty gay dude
>>14712967
>this looks more dumb then regular stick shifts
