Yes I have read the sticky. The sedans on there are not necessarily available with manual trans, and I'd prefer something a bit more reliable than the BMW, merc, VW, etc
I have a VW golf, but I'd like to trade it for something a bit more comfy.
Any recommendations on used, manual trans, sedans under 10k? I can get a 07 Passat 6spd but I'm concerned about the same reliability issues that the Golf has

Mazdaspeed6 if you can find one, don't think the new gen Taurus SHO come in manual unfortunately...

Mazdaspeed 6
basically anything jap, 4doors and a manual.

These if you can't find any decent sedans. Mazda 3/6 sedans are also a good choice, Mazda in general having great reliability/manuals.

I have no idea about the mazda6 but a japanese car and mazda is always a never wrong doing choice

If no Mazda6 I'm pretty sure you can opt for the Pro5

Anything Japanese will have better reliability. But you're also limited to small displacement transversely mounted setups.
I know which engines are the winners, but I don't know which cars you're interested in.
I recently bought a Toyota Solara for my daughter. I noticed the first gen hard tops came with a stick behind the 2AZ and 1MZ. Both engines are legendary. But again, small displacement rice burners.

I missed the word comfy.. sorry.
V6 stick Lincoln LS. Acura's with sticks. Accords with a stick and swap to leather seats.

1st or 2nd generation Lexus IS. Lots of them with manual transmissions out there and reliability is Toyota-tier.

no. that 4 cyl in the IS250 will make him want to off himself. Literally a camry engine, probably even slower than the FR-S
>>14710906
Of course its a Camry engine....
I wouldn't call the first gen IS comfortable, its hard to find one that's not ragged to hell.

It's a v6 you dumbass. It's named the IS250 because it has a 2.5 liter V6. Lexus never released a 4 cylinder option for the IS until this model year, with the IS200t. That being said, the V6 is pitiful with it only putting out ~200hp and 180 lb-ft of torque.

off topic but what is the reliability of a mazdaspeed3? In my area (eastern ontario) they are like 14k CAD for a 2012 with give or take 70,000km. That's cheap considering 2.5l GT's are the same price.
That being said i'd like one, but i'm terrified of buying a turbo hot hatch that needs money all the time. TI student

I should specify there were no 4 cylinder options in the US. Global markets had a few 4 cyl options.

Well... invest in your future or invest in the now.
