Yeah that's what I found. If the vinyl I'm cutting is too short I have to go with my xacto and ruler because it won't cut it straight and it's supposed to be brand new. Maybe I should look into sharpening the blade more, or maybe it's because it's a fairly cheap one.

You can't print any kind of sticker that would that long with a standard ink or toner printer. Stickers rated to last several or more years outdoors are printed on vinyl/ plastics and use special inks and coatings that are UV resistant. You're better off having your design printed by an online service like stickermule.com or stickerobot.com.

in all seriousness though, if you missed the stress testing I was running sharp metal across it and twisting and pulling in all sorts of directions.
they're basically immune to regular plastic ice scrapers from my experience.
it's a custom combination of materials I do to get these results, though even without the thick durable coating they did pretty well in the tests.

the coating is actually something I've used to uh, 'retard proof' mirrors and small windows in the past, with good results, holds the shards in place pretty well instead of shattering and cutting the kids when they bash their heads or hands on them in frustration, so it crumbles inside without blood and glass everywhere.
good stuff, but I was still a bit surprised at just how well it handled as a coating for stickers on the touwa testers.

the guy with the gadsens had 5 per sheet which iirc were 3x5, touwa testers also had 5 per sheet which were 7.5x2, theres also been people who have gotten 8x2.50
I guess technically I could have to charge someone for 1 sticker, but I havent yet had someone ask for an 8x10 peek, but I'd probably toss them in bonus still on the remainder of the sheet as well as give them a slightly better rate for going balls to the wall with a center piece.

I've thought about setting up a queue of some sort for people who don't have friends, but I have no idea how long it would take for each of them to get their stuff after they pay for it, or what sort of problems might arise from miscommunications, could end up like BSG pre-orders all over again.
some people are hard to get ahold of, so organizing all that is quite troublesome, even though all I'd need is payments, addresses, and whatever different things they wanted printed to fit properly.

I would say my sales numbers are fairly successful relative to most stores bit even I can't justify getting a printer plotter yet. I bought a regular plotter and I do all my cut/layered stickers by order which is extremely time consuming for what I get out of it.

that's only for plots, and honestly plotting sucks, you can't do enough with it to justify the cost of holding onto all that dead weight vinyl+ dead weight vinyls shipping costs, even if you think you'll be able to make your bucks back with a little hobby cutter you bought used from an old woman on kijiji or craigslist because she doesnt know how to computer.
Did I mention some types of vinyl can expire on the roll? it takes a while but it can certainly happen, though there are types that are more resistant to it.

I'm aware of the dead weight loss that vinyl has and the expiration. That's why I buy small amounts and also have a small selection because of that. When talking to my supplier it's crazy how expensive some specialty vinyl is but that's just how that goes I suppose. Vinyl cuts are actually the most popular for some of the store owners that I talk to and my own sales for soe of my cut/layered stuff is steady.

you can do it for diecut without a whole lot of issue but any small air bubbles will be very visible on lighter colours, while darker colours will be even more difficult to see on the shadowed backdrop.
