No, too overpriced. Better get an Audi S6.

It's 85k faggot, and I would only if it didn't catch on fire like the Vettes

I'm not too keen on Euro trash. Jap or 'murican is my preference tbqh

I did that "build your car" thing, and with the carbon fiber package, recaro seats, and bunch of other extras it came out to $100k
>>
I prefer the ATS-V because manual and it sounds cool.

CTS-V is fucking awesome though, do it op.
>>

Everyone who drives one hard or far says that the only reason to go RS6, M5, or E63 over CTS-V is CUE hatred or badge whoredom.

The Audi RS6 gets demolished by the CTS-V.

The V-Sport is the car all the mags say beats the S-6.

>The Audi RS6 gets demolished by the CTS-V.
does it though? i heard the cts-v set a nurburgring record for a stock car which is pretty cool, but a simple software tune will have an s6 beating a stock cts-v in a straight line. they are pretty big cars and awd do id imagine they cant corner all that well, but i cant imagine an rs6 would have much too much trouble holding its own.
>>
I'd buy it even though i'm not exactly a GM fan. I drove a 2015 XTS with only 17K miles for 2 weeks, and as far as driving dynamic goes, it really felt "European" despite being American and FWD. I cant imagine how much better the CTS-V would be.

CUE however, was fucking shit. I developed a new level of hatred just for this pile of unresponsive garbage that they called "Cadillac User Experience."
>>
>>14688944
Xts is FWD so it shouldn't feel euro tbf
>>
>>14688934
Tit for tat
You tune the S6
He tunes the V
Your point is moot
>>
If the 2016 V is as reliable as the previous gen, then I would get a V, if not then something else that isn't German, probably Jaguar XFR
>>
>>14688976
It's an opel doe
>>
>>14688934
The RS6 Performance has 43 less horsepower and weighs 150 lbs more. The CTS-V beats it to 60 despite the RWD vs AWD disadvantage, and past 60 it just gets worse. The Cadillac stops shorter, holds more grip on the skid pad and is faster in the figure 8 as well.

Subjectively, most comparison riders say the CTS rides nicer and has compatible interior appointments.
>>
>>14688982
right but the cts-v is supercharged while the s6 is twin turbo. both v8s. from my experience twin turbos tend to respond much better to tuning. i dont own either of these cars though so thats why i asked.
>>
>>14688728
>considered to be at almost the same level of performance/dollar as the nissan GTR, only with a better interior and more fun since it's RWD
>a Car and Driver 10best
>overpriced
>>
>>14689008
Actually it depends because superchargers vary as much as turbos, but if I'm gonna benchrace I'd say that some outfit like ATi or Kenne Bell or Procharger will come up with a blower to replace the stock one and give it just the rights belt and pulley and it's putting down damn near 1000hp, and that RS6 cammer is gonna blow before that point

>>
>>14689038
>>Spending 100k on an ugly unreliable shitbox
Seriously, why would anyone buy a German car?
>>
>>14689024
i was thinking the same but thought of the magnusson/apr blower upgrade for the b8 s4 that couldnt beat a stock blower car with a smaller pulley and tune. but if youre going to upgrade superchargers then again, tit for tat, if the s6 upgrades turbos then its lights out. skys the limit with turbos, and newer audi bottom ends are actually very reliable well over their stock power figures.
>>
>>14689018
You can get a new S6 for under 80k.

Scoop up a used Rapide for less. It's better in every way. Are you really taking a $100k sedan to the track? I think not.
>>
>>14689074
It's more powerful (88hp more than RS6, 43 horsepower more than RS6 Performance), is 150 lbs+ lighter, and handles better.

But still rides better and has better interior fitment.

No wagon though...
>>
>>14689092
Yup, RS6, M5, E63, and CTS-V were close enough I could sit in all three over the course of about 90 minutes Saturday.

The E63 and Cadillac were by far the best. I bet the Mercedes could be optioned nicer, but as it sat (still more expensive than the Cadillac), I'd be hard pressed to pick a winner. Probably the E63, didn't like the dash as much, esp screen integration, but the arm rest was a little nicer.

The CTS-V tempts me into thinking about not getting a farm and staying in town...

I could afford it, just...

Well to that I'd say there is more to a car than merely sitting it in. You know, the engine, feel, etc.

Good luck blowing a tenth of a million bucks on a depreciating asset. Hope you rich anon.
>>
>>14689136
you could consider getting a one year used one, since its a cadillac and they depreciate very fast
>>
>>14689154
Nah, I'm gonna buy the land. And once I've got the land, I'm gonna be locked into living on a dirt road, so nice cars like that will be an unrequited crush.

But I'll see them, and I'll daydream about what could have been.

Reality with a heated 20x60 shop space, installed car lift, 800 meter private rifle range, and navigable river access to 2 lakes will still be the best reality, but that won't mean I won't wistfully imagine doing 60-160 pulls in a 640 horse luxury missile.

Because I couldn't afford the payments on both and contribute meaningfully to retirement.
>>
>>14689169
Not as fast as the Mercedes, Audi, or BMW, lol.

Second Gen Vs held their value well, I don't expect this to be different

GS-F is not in the same class, performance wise. It's only marginally faster than the S6/CTS-V Sport, much slower than the RS6/CTS-V.

The Maser is a value disaster. It'd be cheaper to heat your house burning ones for two winters than to take the depreciation hit.

My grandparents and great grandparents all lived into their 90s. I'm a healthy non-smoker, I'm planning to be active into my 90s.

62 years to go.

I want to retire by 60, get a good 30 years of spoiling grandkids, fishing, hunting, driving, fucking younger women, and yelling at clouds before my health goes to shit.

My paternal grandfather's oldest sister still has her licence (he smoked like a chimney from 13-70, died at 93 she smoked socially from 16-65) and is 104.

Great, but it's not as nice inside unless you love big screens above all else, and it won't hang with the other super sedans in a freeway pull, make such a glorious noise, or handle as good.

But it costs nothing to fill it up, emits less into the ozone, gives me more of a tax break, and gets more stares from the public during highway pulls.

>>
V's usually depreciate to 20% of their worth after the warranty period. Sometimes even less.
>>
>>14689437
I was unaware that metered electricity was free, cars aren't big ozone polluters, and I don't know where you live, but I see enough Teslas in Minnesota that they don't grab my attention any more, and the tax savings aren't significant at the trim levels that can just barely compete with a basic bitch CTS-V's interior.

I might lease a Bolt or a 3 for a winter beater/commuter, if it's as cheap as some are predicting, because my commute is short and I won't feel bad driving on salt and dirt with a basic bitch leased electric, like I would with a purchased super sedan.

But I'll probably go Bolt, because that one will come out a minimum of a full year ahead of the 3 if Tesla's regular release delays happen (and they will).
>>
>>14689480
The CTS interior, like all Cadillac interiors, is pretty shit m8.

Not sure why people keep perpetuating the myth that GM can build a decent interior.
>>
>>14689473
I wish Vs depreciated hard, I would already have a ~2010 CTS V wagon. They hold their value better than any other hot sedan I know of. 2010 AMGs and M5s are well under 25k, cheapest CTS-V wag I've found is 44k.
>>
>>14689503
>2010 AMGs and M5s are well under 25k

Where?
>>
>>14688747
Trust me, don't get recaro seats
>>
>>14689473
The gen 2 Sedans held 50% of their value after 5 years, 75,000 miles.

The M5 holds 40% of its value

An RS6 holds 30% of its value

Finally, an E63 holds 25% of its value after 5 years and 75,000 miles.

The Cadillac's TCO over 5 years is almost 50,000 less than the E63's, almost 30,000 less than the BMW's.
>>
>>14689516
Everywhere. German luxury sedans around 60,000 miles are worthless, because they are due for major service.

An E63's 100,000km service involves engine and transmission disassembly for tolerance checking. It's almost $40,000.

No one wants an old AMG unless it's collectable.
>>
>>14689492
It's better than a BMW at the price. Cheap Cadillacs are Audi tier, the fully optioned ones are better than Audis that cost similar money, and as close to even with Mercedes in the same price bracket that it's really a matter of preference.

Of course there's room above the Cadillac for the best off the German offerings, but if you are looking at spending $100k on a M5/RS6/CTS-V/E63, best interior is going to be CTS-V or E63.

OK? The CTS-Vs I am looking at with similar mileage are well over 40k. Believe me, if I could buy a CTS-V wagon with 150k miles for $25k I would already have one. They hold their value much better than anything else in their segment (and as you demonstrated hold their value vs. mileage WAY more)

I'm not, those were just the top results on craigs, was only commenting on how CTS-Vs hold their value vs other cars in the segment. I would like to find one with crazy high mileage on it for cheap though since I don't mind doing major work to it to save a lot of money, even better would be one that has either been keyed or in acid rain so I could scuff and shoot it, I always keep an eye out on copart for stuff like that just in case.
