RHD or LHD? ive got a gas '81 4x4, 85 would be the last year of solid front axle so theyre worth a fair bit. even mine with no box and patched frame people come to my door asking if its for sale

LHD so far as I know, has been rebuilt and restored
Haven't gotten eyes on it yet but pictures and video sent and seems to run like a top, engine rebuilt in a certified shop less than a year ago. I know the deisels Ive seen generally go for pretty high prices even the engines and transmissions alone are spendy when you can find them from time to time posted through craigslist

Diesel Toyota pickups are worthless. They made less power than the gas engine while being heavier.

Met a Russian guy who owned this, he loved the diesel engine but not in the winter. I just don't know how hard parts are to come by

I'd say a realistic resale value on that truck here in Ohio would be about $3500 but you might get extra for it since it's not a package that was available here.

How difficult would it be to import a Hilux Diesel to the US?

If it's dead mint it could bring a lot more from a collector, but that's not very likely and if you were a collector you'd just pay whatever it took instead of asking here.

Seeing as it doesn't really have many redeeming qualities, I assume you want it so you can be a special snowflake. If so, that gives you more reason to want it than others, and that gives it more value to you, so whatever price we give you may not apply. But you have your starting point on what it's worth as a truck. How much is having something fairly unique worth to you? We can't make that decision for you. It's different for everyone.
