I bought it with 103k miles on it.

Had to replace the water pump and thermostat. Most of the bolts to the oil pan were broken and needed to be drilled out and replaced. I replaced the front drive shaft since xi. I need to replace the centerbearing and guibo for my driveshaft. My suspension is fucked and I have to replace all 4 shocks. Im having an issue with brake wobble. So its either all my control arm bushings are fucked and need to be replaced. Or my rotors are warped because the people I bought it from didnt put oem rotors on.

Im not gonna be delusional and say theyre reliable machines, but once they reach high mileage and you replace every part in the car itll go for another 100k until the electrics shit the bed. Its one of the best driving experiences behind a porche or supercar when everything works right and I wouldnt trade it in for anything except for a clean rx7 or miata.

oh and my door trim on the passenger side is disintegrating and you need fire and brimstone to replace it.

My roommate has a 2006 G35 6MT coupe. A car that arguably was designed to compete against the 3-series. It has 122k miles on it right now.

Repairs currently needed to get it to 100% show room condition

>replace parts damaged by hitting raccoon in -15F weather (front bumper, lower core support, washer fluid bottle)
>repair damage from deer running into car (L fender, L door, L 1/4 panel)
>replace the rest of the bushings in the car

I used to think his car was junk because of how much he's had to replace, but you've shown it in a whole new light. Compared to the competition, he's had to replace a lot less.

This is my ride, a 2003 Saturn Vue. The interior sucks and the AC doesn't work, but the drive is fantastic. It has a hearty 3.0 liter V6, so pickup is never an issue.

yes this is the very unfortunate truth about literally any used German car. I know so, so many coworkers who have been like:

"yeah you won't believe it I scored this A6 for 16k! It's crazy I have no idea why these are so cheap..."

and then every oil change foreve they're paying like $800 for some sensor or suspension component. And they delude themselves into thinking this is acceptable. even to the point of saying "well it's ok I can afford the maintenance on it. this is what comes with having a nice car. etc." I a VW for 8 years, and while it was very reliable, maintenance was just unbelievably expensive. the only way I would ever own a German car again is on a 3 year lease with full maintenance package and warranty. while very pretty to look at and fun to drive, they are absolute trash cans compared to any Japanese car.
