I've used a single scissor jack under the rear pumpkin on a Ranger to pull both the rear tires off and work on the brakes.

Was on a slight incline so I used 2x4's to chock the front wheels.

I was on my feet the entire time ready to jump out of the way if it started to go. Everything went off without a hitch though.

If it did fall off I wouldn't have been too mad. It's a fucking Ranger. Nothing would have been broken, they are bulletproof piles of shit. Would have just jacked it back up and carried on.

It was actually a guy who used the van for his electrician business. The whole thing as such an unbelievable mess.

He ended up needing a new caliper because the piston actually popped out since there were no pads and got all fucked up.
