Then why are you here? Yes the specials are fun but the core of the series is the pokey little motoring show on BBC2. I was never into foreign cars in the slightest until I watched the Top Gear series proper.
You don't even have to be a "car guy" to watch the regular episodes. The show is like 80% bantz and broad generalizations/auto industry stereotypes. Just watch it and kick back and enjoy the lads

Them talking about regular cars is still 75% banter.
Not to mention its not a bad way to learn a thing or two. Maybe to even become closer to being sort of a car guy.
Too bad they really mostly focused on sport cars, especially in the earlier series.
