The Vietnam special is fantastic

The one where hammond falls in love with Oliver. Botswana special?

OLIVER...NNOOOOOOO!

The specials

Vietnam > Bolivia > Burma > Polar > Africa > Botswana > India > Middle east > US > Patagonia

Don't know is Winter Olympics was really a special. It was okay.
>>
>>14663526
the specials arent all there is to top gear, using this website

http://topgearspecials.com/list-of-episodes/

you can view a list of all episodes and specials, and watch them there too, i tend to find all of them watchable, but i personally think the quality of and comedic style of the show is at its best after around series 12, just pick episodes that you are interested to watch, or include cars you are interested to see. have fun xD
>>
I would watch it in order.
>>
>>14663526
I really liked the Ford Fiesta episode

And the one where Jeremy ran from the army in a modified Evo.
>>
>>14663672
>>
>Jeremy and Hammond work on building a car
>Hammond pulls out a nice, neat organized box of various sized sockets and other tools
>Jeremy goes to open his drawers and it's just an assortment of different kinds of hammers

My sides

all of the seasons worth watching are also on netflix.

the american version isn't as good as the british version but it does have it's moments.
>>
>>14665304
I'm not really a car guy, so maybe them talking about old ass Audis with 300 bhp when they wre new is good for you guys, but for me it comes off as quaint and weird in hindsaight
>>
>>14664746
>Patagonia that low

It scores points purely because for once it wasn't scripted and choreographed like the rest
>>
>>14665905
>I'm not really a car guy
Then why are you here? Yes the specials are fun but the core of the series is the pokey little motoring show on BBC2. I was never into foreign cars in the slightest until I watched the Top Gear series proper.
You don't even have to be a "car guy" to watch the regular episodes. The show is like 80% bantz and broad generalizations/auto industry stereotypes. Just watch it and kick back and enjoy the lads
>>
>>14665913
That's true, but there was too much dithering about and the end, unscripted as it was, left a bad taste in mouth.

Is that the one where they all have to find bikes or scooters?
Because that ones my favorite.

That and Jeremy's Ford Fiesta review

Vietnam special is so comfy. The closest they got to a genuine adventure, and a much better TV motorcycle tour than Long Way Round/Down.

>Planeta 5 = US$1,000
>GS1200 = US$19,000

Would have thought they would have learned their lesson for the Long Way Down.
>we're going to a place with roads worse than russia and mongolia
>better have the bikes that were shit there!
>>
>>14667137
its even funnier when you consider how big cameras are
that and I'm sure they would have had a support car further back so the bmws need not have been so loaded with panniers
I'm starting to think that its only that BMW gave them the bikes for free

>Planeta 5
neat Ive been wanting to know what the beastly mofuker was
the cameraman on it captures every fall with rock solid presentation
>>
>>14667177
>the cameraman on it captures every fall with rock solid presentation
>"Can I be keeping the Ruskie bike?"
>"No, Claudio, we have a contract with BMW."
>"...OK..."

Also he manages to hack that thing ahead of them, which is probably easy when they had to push 2 tonnes of metal through a swamp he just skipped over.
>>
>>14667177
What annoys me is they were on sponsorship from the start. I mean, it's not like a successful Hollywood actor couldn't afford a pair of old bikes that would be perfect. Nope, had to beg for freebies.
>>
>>14665905
Them talking about regular cars is still 75% banter.
Not to mention its not a bad way to learn a thing or two. Maybe to even become closer to being sort of a car guy.
Too bad they really mostly focused on sport cars, especially in the earlier series.
>Jason kicked out of the show after the very first season
>he was the closest thing they had to a regular guy talking about regular cars and having some common sense instead of judging every car based on its potential racing performances
>>
Nissan GTR vs Bullet Train across Japan

Shelby GT500 vs Eurostar across Europe

Iraq special

Chernobyl special. They went to fucking chernobyl.
>>
>>14667253
You know, there are guided tours of Chernobyl. It did become a tourist attraction as time went on.
>>
the SUV challenge

>clarkson gets fucking penis rims

also yeah the africa special was great.

The homemade motorhomes episode was great! That's my favorite. I also liked the hovercars episode and electric mobility scooters episodes.

Really they're all great
>>
>>14663526
just go through all of them, even the jason ones
>>
>>14668311
To be fair you have movies and video games made about that place, its kind of hard NOT to become a tourist attraction

Plus nature taking over the abandoned cities is kind of nice
>>
>>14668311
>>14668427
And think about it : can you name one other place in Ukraine?
If you are the everage pleb, not from eastern Europe and not into old russian and sovietic cinema, you probably can't.
>>
>>14668437
Kiev?
>>
I like the Reliant Robin episode.
>>
>>14668451
That was fucking great.
>turns
>flips
>flips into enthusiast club
>>
>>14668427
when they did the shots within Chernobyl it was actually pretty creepy. the shot with the abandoned ferris wheel was crazy to me, idk why
>>
>>14663526
any of the episodes where they either do donuts in the shape of a dick or they draw out plans for something and it turns into a dick.
>>
>>14668368
>hating on the top lad Jason
he just had the misfortune of inheriting the least interesting segment of the show and not be into sport cars nobody can afford.
>>
>>14668507
i'm not though, that's why i said he should go through his episodes as well
>>
honestly there are very few bad ones, especially prior to the last couple of seasons.

aside from the location specials, the challenges are always great fun.

>build a train using cars
>amphibious van
>the 'hammerhead eagle i-thrust' series hybrid car
>car vs planes, trains and various other modes of transportation races
>and the classic - car soccer

top gear is so much lulz
>>
>>14668500
you never went through any media that had the abandoned ferris wheel before?

Shit I thought it was pretty popular
>>
>>14668617
It's well known by people who can remember some of the news report from the actual accident, and people who player Stalker or saw some of the many movies spawned by the post-apocalypse-aesthetic craze. There is sort of an age gap between these two categories.
