Why though? The transmission is either meh (3spd manual), boring and heavy as shit for no reason (cast iron Powerglide) or overcomplicated and impossible to find parts for (Turboglide). The 283 is an okay engine but it's gonna be expensive to build and will be pretty much undriveable on the street if you try to get more than 300 hp out of it.
