What oil filter is best oil filter?
>Super Turbo Racing
Aw, that's cute.
Is high mileage oil a marketing scheme? I have a s10 at coming up to 161k miles. Im not ready to buy into the high mileage petroleum jew.

I'd say yes, just buy a slightly thicker oil if it's high mileage
full flow or bypass lads?
>>14592301
high mileage oils just have a more robust additive package to keep seals and the like from drying out.
Are K&N oil filters good? Or should I go with WIX?

Thanks guys, good to know.
And for filters, I normally don't cheap out, but can pricier ones make the difference?
>>14592536
just don't get fram. wix is good, Bosch is good, k&n is overpriced but if you like the wrench off feature then cool.
>>14592525
>wix is good, napa sells them as house filters
>k&n is okay, makes better air filters
>avoid these
>>14592571
>>14592525
meant to reply here too
just don't get anything with a paper filter
Mann or OEM
>>14592576
In all seriousness, why don't any reputable brands use the grip stuff? My past 2 Bosch filters have required the screwdriver method to get off, even after oiling the seal liberally. For the vast quantity of cars that have awkwardly-positioned filters you'd think they would just fuckin do it.

I've wondered the same thing, though I wear latex gloves when I change oil and once they get some oil on them they'll stick to goddamn anything so getting the filter off is cake so long is it's not at some buttfucked angle.
Why not get a filter wrench?
>>14592267
>yfw hks oil is actually just a rebranded big name japanese oil with drift tax
>>14592267
Wix master race reporting in
why do i keep seeing supercars etc running fram filters
I just use purolator.
>>14593926
>tfw you just want the can to be able to reuse it because it's JDM as fuck
>>14593872
But purolator does use a textured coating.
Why hasn't anyone posted this yet? Also, Wix filters are based.
>>14592267
Wix, NAPA Gold, or OEM. Nothing else.
>>14592571
Why not fram?
>>14594928
>not a single Wix
Why are they so highly regarded? For the most part they all look the same
>>14594989
Napa gold is a rebranded wix, so there technically is one.
FRAM Ultra Guard filters are actually very highly reviewed and have the anti drain back valve. I used to use K&N, but Ultras are identical internally and half the price. Just stay away from the cheap FRAM filters.
Pic related, after 10K
I always buy Mobile1 filters to go with the Mobile1 synthetic.
>>14592267
I want that pattern as a floormat or door card
All my Ferds get motorcraft oil filter.
