How much power does my car need at the wheels to be 4chan /o/ fast?
>>
>>14551830
At least 200hp.
>>
Good, and how heavy does pigfat start at?
>>
>>14551830
400hp with that bulk

>>14551841
it's gotta be 2000kg
>>
Anything greater than 0whp considering most posters here are busriding benchracers.
>>
>>14551830
really depends on how comfy you want to be for lazy highway driving and easy passing 240 hp for 4000 lb
I don't like travelling long distance even in comfortable cars so my preference is to lighter cars on more obscure roads
100 hp to 1800 lb is what I would call normal
70 hp to 1300 lb is getting light
>>
>>14552022
My car is 153rwkW and 1600kg
Or in American 205hp and roughly 3500lbs
Double wishbones front and rear
I don't know if that counts towards anything. I feel as though it's bordering on pigfat.
>>
>>14551841
pigfat is over one ton (2000 lbs.)
>>
>>14552080
But that's every car made.

>bordering on pigfat
that's fairly typical of a sedan
on the other hand 1500 kg is fairly light for something with 600 hp
id say weight is ok if the car does not loose much speed in corners
>>14552110
well it is very hard to find anything less than 900 kg now

That's a beautiful magna
>>
(curb weight) / 10 + 50
>>
>>14552079
Yes, you're bordering on pigfat and you're bordering on anemic. Your car is right around the cutoff for where you get any respect on /o/ but since you're probably european I'm guessing the government won't allow you to have anything better.
>>
well if its a 2.0T then you are pretty good, a tune will get you another 30hp. If its a 2.0t.. well don't worry about it.. yoru turbo is going to go shits anyway.

If you are talking about the rolls, i'm sure it is already adequately powered.
>>
>>14551830
Is my new used truck pig fat?

>2001 ranger regular cab, only option is A/C and a trans oil cooler + 3.0 V6.

curb weight 3030 lbs and 150 HP/190 Tq.
>>
>/o/ fast
85hp and you'd beat half of /o/'s shitboxes.
>>
>>14553107
Whats funny is its about the same weight and torque as my 2015 jetta 1.8t which weighs the same or a tad more.

If the truck can do 0-60 in under 8 seconds liek the jetta ill be very impressed. that 3.0 is a dog but not when in a light truck/car im told.

Anything over 200 and you're beating most of the people on this board desu.
>>
>>14553107
Not for a truck, but I find regular cab rangers to be too small and uncomfortable, legroom is shit

>>14553127
about the same power/weight as my accord too, with a little less torque. 0-60 is right around 8 seconds, its an autotragic though
>>
>>14553148
>its an autotragic though

Same for the truck buts its got a 4.10 rear that should make up for any power loss.
>>
>>14551830
Considering that it's at least 4500 lbs, I would say that you need maybe 450 HP for it to be considered quick. Even with that, I'd expect it to hit 60 in only around 5 seconds.
>>
>>14551830
Tune the Saab and you will probably be faster than 80% of /o/
>>
>>14551841
I think it depends on the car. In sports cars, 3500 lbs is the cutoff for me to be pigfat (it's hard to find many under this these days). In sedans/family cars, I'd say 3700 lbs is the cutoff.

>>14553107
It's not pigfat, but it's a little underpowered.

>>14553127
Trucks are geared differently though. Usually they're geared for more torque (for towing/hauling).
>>
>>14553194
>Trucks are geared differently though. Usually they're geared for more torque (for towing/hauling).

True, the 4.10 gears should help. I also drive an explorer with a 10+ second 0-60 so I doubt it will be slower than that.

A good tune up is in order and a rear LSD upgrade as well.
>>
>>14553194
My gs400 is around 3600 3700 lbs and it feels fat. Its has good grip, brake, accel and handling, but it's a fat car. Any body who has ever driven it thinks so.
>>
>>14553699
Part of that is due to the chassis and suspension design though. There are modern cars now like the IS350 or ATS that feel like they shrink around you when you push them. The RWD versions of them weigh around 3500-3600 lbs and I can say from personal experience that they don't feel that heavy when pushed.
>>
According to /o/ while the veyron has 1,000 hp it is still too fat.

So you need at least 2,000
>>
>>14551830
All sorts of people are mentioning their personal preferences, which is fine, they make up /o/. BUT to be please everybody on /o/ fast you need
>400rwhp
>similar or matching torque
>car weighs under 2600lbs
>manual
>engine must adhere to the 100hp/liter ratio, so if only 400hp, only 4 liter engine
>cannot make all torque up high
>>
OP here, forgot about the thread. I'm not European and there are three v8 options for my car. Mine is a naturally aspirated 4.0L inline 6 sedan at 1600kg. 5 speed manual, rear wheel drive. It's neither the rolls nor the saab. I had it tested on the dyno yesterday for shits and giggles (a mate was picking up his car from the workshop) and it pulled 153rwkW at roughly 4500rpm and a fairly linear 450Nm-500Nm from somewhere below 3000rpm. I was just curious if it's fast or heavy by /o/ standards or not, that's all.
>>
>>14552022
1850 lb crx with 180hp. 2ed Gen b series with some head work. Fucking toy!
>>
>>14555476
180 at the wheels?
>>
>15 Second Quarter Mile
Literally, thats all it takes here.
>>
If you don't have a v8 you can't even race me.

You can't even look at me.

If you drive a garbage 4 banger Honda or 6 cylinder grocery getter why are you even on this board?

Anything over 200hp is wasteful.
>>
>>14551830
I think anything under a 1/10 power/weight ratio would be much fun.

1/12 and below still fun but less so.
>>
>>14555521
Whp would be 155-160

>>14555605
And yet posts nothing about the "ride"
