>implying it's worth buying
>>
>>14525035
I'd rather waste 180k on drugs than buy this piece of shit
Actually no, I'd rather actually buy a real Honda NSX for 1/3 of the price.

north american """"""""""""""engineering"""""""""""""", i hope it flops desu, i cant believe the japs let americans in charge of turning something that was light and elegant into something so fat and ugly
>>
>>14525148
Call it an rsx and it could have sold.
>>
>>14525092
>>14525148
People who bitch the most about it can't afford it regardless
>>
>>14525035
Haha, oh Acura. You so funny.

Anyone really gonna to buy this piece of shit?
>>
>>14525035
I have put all of my hope on the Civic Type R.

Honda is years too late with this car, and the hybrid tech is a departure from what made all of their previous successes good.
>>
>>14525183
Exactly it'll just be bought by some rich fags who aren't aware an NSX before this one ever existed.
>>
>>14525257
I just feel bad for Jay Leno. He put the money down on the NSX years ago, now he's stuck with this.
>>
>>14525035
Someone please save Honda. Soichiro should have had more kids so one of them could have been his true successor. Now it's very Ameriburger-ish with pigfat hybrid faggotry.

His son in charge of Mugen is cool and does good things. Why can't road cars take some of that inspiration?

>>
>>14525331
You mean like the last one? It was bought by celebrities who didn't even know where the engine was
>>
Has anyone done the math to figure out if this is actually similar pricing to the first gen NSX in 1990 money?
>>
>>14525395
It's about $10k more expensive in today's money
>>
>>14525395

75K in 1994

that is 120k now
>>
The interior is pretty pathetic for what this car is supposed to be. That dashboard looks like they ripped it straight outta a Civic.

This car is a huge let-down all around.
>>
>>14525148
>thinking the Japanese know how to design light cars anymore if they have actual power.

Look at the gtr at 4000lbs, and the lfa weighing the same as the c6 z06, yet being made out of carbon fiber and titanium
>>
Is no one gonna talk about that 0-60? I understand the style is polarizing, as is the general direction, but as an engineering feat it's imoressive. It's more of a Honda R8 than a Honda F40 or whatever the NSX was trying to emulate, but I like it.

I'd take a 90s one in white over this one, but if I had the money and was looking to buy an R8/i8 style car I'd look twice.

WHY DOES IT COST $700 FOR RED CALIPERS
>>
>>14525726

literally the entire car is drive by computer

LITERALLY

this car is straight up the opposite of the 1st gen nsx, you are as disconnected as you can get with the road in the new nsx.
>>
>>14525694
>and the lfa weighing the same as the c6 z06

As if it's hard to make an american car "light" when it's made of walmart tupperware inside and out.
>>
>>14525783
How does that excuse the space age Tupperware that the lfa uses? Carbon fiber is lighter and stronger than fiberglass.

Toyota made a whole new machine just for it.

>>

>>14525804
every single modern car is drive by wire for throttle and has been for years, many have drive by wire for brakes, and a couple are drive by wire steering......stop complaining about shit you know nothing about and wouldn't realize was there if you werent told
>>
>>14525800
It's not an "excuse."

The LFA has leather, aluminum interior trim, more safety features like airbags in the seatbelts, probably heavier wheels, etc. In other words, the LFA has more features one would expect from a supercar from a luxury car brand. Unlike the Corvette and the NSX.
>>
>>14525841
>drive by wire brakes
That doesn't sound dangerous at all. Not one bit.
>>
>interior looks like cheap honda accord or something

pass
>>
>>14525869
every hybrid on the road, Most Mercedes and BMWs since early 2000s and many other manufacturers use it. it's remarkable safe
>>
Why can't Honda let this one hit wonder rest in peace?
>>
>>14525866
It still has a tiny gas tank and the wheels may be bigger but are actually a bit thinner and with better construction. So it probably evens out.

Still dissapointing considering how much R&D went into the thing
>>
>>14525841

You don't know what you're talking about. Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standars (FMVSS) in the US mandate a mechanical link for the brakes and steering.

This is America! You can finance anything if you really want to.

>>14525035
I haven't even looked into this thing much. Is it going to be like R35 GTR tier? How powerful is it? Because even the V8 Ferraris now (488) are putting out stupid amounts of power.

never to exist ever again.

You may now select a boring econobox, some flavor of crossover, or a very expensive subsuper car.

>yfw Honda never makes an NA performance car again. EVER.
>>
>>14528665
>implying factory tubro is a bad thing

Wew lad
>>
>>14526024
Yeah but it's valid for it to have just a mechanical fallback. Example: Infiniti Q50S is steer-by-wire, but if the power is cut for any reason, a mechanical clutch is engaged and the steering wheel can control the wheels directly. This doesn't change the fact that while you're driving it, it's still steer-by-wire and has no feel.
>>
>>14528719

Didn't imply anything. Honda built its rep on completely different factors tho and its all being thrown away. There isn't anything in the pipeline that harkens back to the old days.

>muh nostalgia.
>>
>>14528739
See, it's shit that I don't get. Why make a car drive-by-wire so you lose all feel if you need to have a mechanical fallback anyway? Wouldn't it be easier and cheaper to just leave out the whole drive-by-wire system at that point?

rip Acura R10 "murican engineering"
>>
>>14528765
Because with drive-by-wire the ECU can optimize a lot more and can do things like change your steering ratio, throttle response, etc. on the fly for the situation. I agree with you though, I'm just saying these are the reasons why it exists.
>>
>>14528091
GTR is also an outdated and hideous pig that looks like an overweight Fairlady and not a supercar
>>
>>14528646
New CEO is an engineer and moved the development team away from the bean counters, fun cars in the next generation probably
