Next OP asks how he could rev the engine without making the car move when all he doesn't have a clutch pedal and only automatic transmission.

Not op, but how do you do that?

This kills the engine.

I just idle until it gets to 130 degrees. Which is where the gauge actually starts marking temperature.
Even then I drive it lightly till it warms up a little more.
Then I start to take off.

pretty normal behavior for most cars isn't it? my LS430 will idle at around 1400 cold and won't shift into 6th gear until the engine is warm enough during the winter.
>>
>>14481415
In old cars it seemed to be very common

My parents' 2008 diesel ford always idles at the same rpm
Its really stupid

If you start it after a particularly cold night it'll stall unless you give it some gas lel

For as good as the car is, they really didn't think that through

Post them on facebook and vouch for them pls you will do g_ds work
>>
>>14481016
Which models has it?
>>
>>14480557
Well, it's wrong unless you just blip it once or twice. This helps the engine get some oil pressure faster, and clearing out vapours, which is why racers do it at the start (no, it's not to impress).

But the important thing is not allowing the engine to develop torque initially.
>>
>>14481426
what would happen for real?
>>
>>14481441
Unresponsive braking because antifreeze compresses.

Brake fluid has a low level of compressibility, the same doesn't apply to antifreeze or water.

sauber
>>
>>14480557
I would want to try this on some Corolla E100 with 0W-20 motor oil
>>
>>14480557
i try to stay under 2500 rpm for some minutes, depending on season. on cold days i also start with slow rpm alternations.

normally i have a look on the cooling water indication.
first observable change indicates cooling water recycle exchanged, so warm up is complete.
>>
>>14480649
igger
>>
>>14482679
You are really a dumbass. Liquid compression is nothing compared to gas. Brake fluid is required for its high boiling point and low corrosion.
>>
>>14482744
>Brake fluid is required for its high boiling point and low corrosion
Yes. You also change it when water eventually gets in or you die.

Seems to me that you are the stupid one here
>>
>>14482768
Thats because the water boils off under compression and heat.
>>
>>14482774
And antifreeze won't?
>>
>>14482768
You can use water as brake fluid in emergencies it will work but not for long periods of time
>>
>>14482801
>You can use water as brake fluid in emergencies
I hope you have an emergency soon.
>>
>>14482814
Google it you fool, if i was 20miles from help and had little to no brake fluid but had water i would use water to travel that 20miles then sort out the brakes
>>
>>14482744
Mainly for its low compressibility. Stop being autistic.

Yes, try it and then report back :^)

>>
>>14484643

A lot of newer vehicles with automatic transmissions are tuned like this. My RAV4 won't shift aggressively if the temperature is too cold, it has to warm up a bit before it will rev past 3,000.

First time I thought the car was broken because it just kept holding the gear instead of downshifting/upshifting.

>tfw you're retarded

Just park it in Neutral and use the e-brake to keep it from rolling away.

If you have a clutch disabler switch, just press it down. My friend and I installed one in his Toyota Matrix, just screwed a piece of All-Around over the little switch so it was permanently pressed.

>>
>>14482859
nigga, water is virtually incompressible, just like pretty much any other liquid.

The reason it's bad when it gets in your brake system is because it can boil off, and it rusts your brake lines from the inside. It has nothing to do with compressibility.

I've heard it's bad for the catalytic converter, but cars are made like shit these days so who the fuck knows if you can even do anything GOOD for a car anymore.

I just change my fluids, rotate tires, etc. and then drive the fuck out of my car. It's a workhorse, I plan to drive it until it literally explodes or suffers catastrophic failure.

exhaust is not that hot, especially when idling, fumes at the exit are barely warm. When e-brake freezes, you get heat blower or wait for spring to come.

Got an infrared thermometer on the headers one day and found that idling temps were around 600F and we know that WOT temps will easily double that.
