total pleb here looking for my first car
(been an extreme poorfag for a long time)
When people have shit like pic related where the body has more miles than the engine is that bad? Is it safe to go by just the engine miles?
>>14462778
Well with that pic it's owned by one of those "JDM tyte" faggots who imports stuff only sold in Japan just because it was only sold in Japan. It's really common among Honda cars to see an early 90s something (usually a civic or Prelude) listed for 5 grand because they put a Japanese engine in.
If it's not a gay ass Honda with different miles on the OEM motor, then someone along the way didn't properly care for the car and the engine died. Would be careful on those, because it means they didn't take care of the body either
https://www.gumtree.com/p/subaru/subaru-wrx-import-spares-or-repairs-/1150972017
A wee gem near me. Dosen't look so bad does it? "Blown engine" would be an easy fix, and then yay you've got a £750 WRX?
I know the guy, and I can tell you that it's been on fire. Twice.

Not sure why, but there are two of these posted. Must be a local thing, but here's that lift. He also wants substantially more, and parts seem fairly pricey for these. Not sure what all I'd be needing to replace on the other one, but usually someone's selling a vehicle because there's something wrong with it.

>>14462990
So if I'm interpreting what you're saying correctly, he is not someone who had to replace the engine because of careless use of the car. Thus the the body should be okay and I should take it at the value of what's on the engine?
How can you be sure that the information given about the engine is truthful (in terms of miles driven)?
Would you say this car has life left in it? Am I looking in the right place it seems like many of the corollas, civics, and other /o/ recommendations all have close to 200K miles already on them, don't know how much more life I can get out of them...
