>tfw driving around to future funk proto vaporwave during the day and listening to ambient synthpop like Daves at night
Everyone needs to know this feel. Is the /dat/ music page still being updated? I got some shit I need to add.
>>
>>14328213
>vaporwave
I really don't get this? Do people legitimately listen to this sober?

I enjoy it while high but otherwise nope
>>
>>14328243
It depends on the mood and what kind of vaporwave. Future funk is vaporwave but uses funk tracks as the base and adds a lot of compression and effects. Here's two faves of mine

This guy back again. Should I try and get the guy I know back down to $7,000? The car is worth the $10,000 he's asking for and he'd probably get it if he waits long enough for the right buyer. But I want to buy the car now so will that give me any edge at all?
>>
>>14328264
Future funk is pretty damn different though. It's based as fuck as well.

Kinda weird watching vaporwave going from ironic meme music to something real

installing a car radio
Ive been coming across people talking about radio codes, no videos ever mention this.
my haynes manual also mentions this but no videos or online guides make any mention.
anyone who's installed a radio here? dont want to fuck up.
>>
>>14328419
radio codes are generally codes you enter into the radio when you first install if so that if its stolen and put into a new car, they cant use it. generally only stock units have codes though.

if you have the manual for your car, have a look in that.
>>
>>14328432
mm will do.
Haynes manual seems to be talking about refitting the stock radio.
>>
>>14328437
if you're installing an aftermarket radio, you dont need to worry about a radio code.
>>
>>14328447
ahh fuck yeah.
thanks man.
>>
>>14328419
>>14328432
Radio codes are annoying, Everytime my dad takes the battery out or it dies etc he asks me for the code because i memorised it when i had to figure it out manually because there was no service book saying the radio code.
>>
>>14328588
the previous owner of my shit box took the stock unit out and engraved the code onto it.

the code is there for security so if it's stolen it can be used but he's made it clear for anyone who happens to take it... doesn't matter anyway because fuck stock units.

hey guys,

dont normally post much on /o/ but saw aus thread,
old man passed away and got his shed key.
had two project cars in his workshop.

88 vette and an 89 fairlady z32.

so selling my Imported MR2 to a friend for 10k or so for enough cash to get one of my old mans projects on the road and be living memorabilia. opted for the corvette because the GM motor seemed a little bit easier to work on than the Upside down vg33 in the fairlady.

after thorough going over of car, doesn't need much , new radiator as the plastic end tanks have perished on one side , so slow leak, and tensioning of fanbelt. drove it to mechanic a few days ago , turned key for first time in 14 months literally untouched since my old man drove it last.

Danger Zone on mix tape in tapedeck.
tears and feels.

I'm not a robot.

dropped it off at mechanic for general service and new radiator and alternator since it's there.

hope the rest of you are having a good week.

There is an exception for essential modifications, eg if something fails and you HAVE to use an aftermarket part, but the replacement has to be more or less identical to OEM.

Not a bike I'd want to learn on honestly. The balance on them is really odd and the centrifugal clutch stops you learning how to shift.

They're great fun, but the skills from a CT110 don't really transfer to other bikes.

I'd probably add the RVF400 as well.

In SA it most likely wouldn't be legal for a P plater. Even if the engine was a factory standard it'd be considered a performance upgrade since the rest of the car isn't the same as the model with the engine.

The one exception I can think of is recall/warranty engines where the equivalent replacement makes more power than the original. That's a pretty rare situation though.

only makes 20 more hp than the i6 but quite a bit more torque.

It's like 280hp IIRC and roughly 400nm of torque.

Obviously its not built for power output. a testarossa engine is smaller displacement with way more hp and torque.
>>
>>14334828
Eh. Only $170 in fuel to get from Adelaide to Melbourne assuming $1.10 and lazy maths
>>
How would Australian cars handle snow?
>>
>>14334907
I will never understand why people build classics with old tech, unless they are going for a restoration, there is no point. Stock 351 clevelands only makes 224kw and stock 4L turbos make like 300kw and weigh 100kg less.

Holden 308 makes 180kw and stock LS3 makes over 350kw stock

>>14334951
Probably better than most cars, Australian cars were designed to handle the roughest roads, they'd rust pretty easily i reckon.
>>
>>14334970
Pretty sure the Barra weighs more than a 351
Also it's not cheap or easy getting a new engine in an old car, especially the electronics
And 351 is a powerhouse for very little effort and money. Far better choice financially

Your post is stupid

Why is winter so far away. I can't wait to put my bald tires back on and hit the industry areas by myself blasting my heater

>Pretty sure the Barra weighs more than a 351
Cleveland Weighs 250kg
Barra weighs 175kg

>Also it's not cheap or easy getting a new engine in an old car, especially the electronics
That's what I don't understand about this country, you pay almost 6 figures to put an engine that has better emissions, better fuel economy, better driveability, etc. and in other countries you pay fuck all to do the swap. Electronics aren't hard either.

>And 351 is a powerhouse for very little effort and money. Far better choice financially
It's a good choice for most things but not all
>>
>>14335065
175kg for a BARE SOHC LONG BLOCK
Holy fuck people are stupid, look up the weight of a FULLY DRESSED BARRA TURBO and get back to me

> other countries you pay fuck all to do the swap
Are parts free in other places or something?

Just shut up kid it's painfully obvious you have zero fucking clue
>>
>>14335004
I wish I knew this feel. $4,500 in the bank with $600 for this week at work means all I need to do is finally get my Ps and make up my mind on a car then I can be comfy.
>>
>>14335088
Get triggered boomer. You boomers are worse than ricers.
>>
>>14335105
At least I'm not stupid enough to think the Barra weighs 175kg

> using boomer as an insult
Fuck off falcunt
>>
>>14335149
Barra's weigh 25kg less than a 302 windsor when fully dressed, retard.
>>
>Friend got his grill plus volkswagen badge plastidipped
>Looks bad, all black on a white car
>Already starting to peel
>Ask him where he got the cans so I could grab some more and fix it. May look shit but it was triggering me
>"I didnt buy them, got a place around from me to do it for only $300"
Why are vw owners so retarded. $300 for badly done plastidipping just blows my mind.
>>
>>14335205
I would tell your friend to go back and make them do it properly. $300 to paint 2 badges is ridiculous.
>>
>>14335216
I tried, he said hes gonna wait for his new rims to come in and get them all painted at once. I'm just sitting here watching him go down the ricer path.
>>
>>14335205
shit nigger you serious? should only take 2 cans at most to do a grill and badges so that's $30. your friend got his ass raped on that one.

jimmy's next car yes or no?
>>
>>14335351
He's pretty dumb with money, comes from a rich family and since his parents paid the 10k for the car he has too much money to throw around.

Me on the other hand worked at fast food and coles through highschool to buy my car and had to do all the work on it myself.
>>
/dat/ why haven't one of you sold jimmy a car yet?

Actually I am, with people like falcunt in here I'm very wary of posting anything. Last thing I need is a neckbearded stalker
>>
>>14335399
That's the problem, They will never be taught the value of money. He will just get things for free from his parents, he will always waste money and try to live the rich life in his 20s and fail. They are good to be friends with because you can sell them shit for more than it's worth.

Grandpa used to always respond to questions about his V12 Jag's fuel economy with, "If you have to ask, you can't afford to drive it." Did something like 20-25L/100km.

>>14335633
>WAT Sticker
I should throw one on my CBR once it's rebuilt. Not putting any stickers on my current bike though.
>>
>>14335971
Depends what you find good, MX5's are shit in general but this might be a good one of the shit cars.
>>
>>14335974
It's not for everyone, but I get what he means. It mainly came about when he sold one of them and it was the question people who had no intention of buying it usually asked.
>>
>>14335986
Yeah, My dad has an EH Wagon Special sitting in the carport and once a month we get a knock on the door people asking if it's for sale. Dad told them it's for 50k (so high that no one buys it). Then there was this 1 guy my uncle knows and he asked how good a 289w powered xr fairmont was on fuel, It has to be the stupidest question asked for cars like those.
>>
>>14336023
>It has to be the stupidest question asked for cars like those
You get it for all sorts of stuff though. People are always surprised that my bike is thirsty in comparison to theirs, what do they expect?
>>
>>14335971
MX5anon is this MX5 good?
>>
>>14336046
Bikes use nothing though, I don't think i've seen a bike that uses over 5L/100km.

The commodore I currently drive because my daily 's motor fucked itself big time uses more fuel than a LS1 powered commodore and it's a v6
>>
>>14336067
MX5anon is never on, He has a job at Repco and drinks every night.
>>
>>14336072
That's deep, but 100% true.
>>
>Bikes use nothing though, I don't think i've seen a bike that uses over 5L/100km.
I meant comparatively. Mine runs around 6.5-7L/100km.
>>
>>14336090
Jesus, That uses the same amount as my GFs Hyundai. What bike is it?

>>14336083
I'm not sure which Repco but he has gone full normie
>>
>>14336072
Nah, he is too busy planning future insurance jobs.
>>
>>14335971
> 1.6L
Try an NB as they are cheap and easy to find with 1.8L engines, unless you dislike fun then go and check out the car.
>>
>>14336068
>Bikes use nothing though, I don't think i've seen a bike that uses over 5L/100km.

I get 280-300km from 20lt of fuel on my DL1000
>>
>>14336097
>Jesus, That uses the same amount as my GFs Hyundai. What bike is it?
R1. It uses about the same fuel as the Mirage I had briefly. Does make three times the power though.

>>14336111
I usually get 160-180km before the fuel light comes on.
>>
>>14336111
Not bad, My dad has a DR350 and the tank lasts him a month he travels 10km a day so thats about the same fuel economy as you

>>14336127
R1 would be good fun, My dads co-worker had an R1 or R6 with a joker on the back fender, that bike was fucking quick though.
>>
>>14336068
