I think it looks really good, actually - surprisingly close to the original LF-LC concept.

I wonder if anyone has ever actually seen these cars IRL - the polarizing design of the spindle grill is part of it's power. Every time I see one IRL I end up taking a second look because it's so stark and different from literally anything else. At first I wasn't sure whether I liked it (and to be fair there are a lot of little elements in the earlier "L-Finesse" cars I still find unattractive), but the end result is that it's grown on me.

The problem Lexus had before was that no one really noticed them - they looked more or less like any other Euro-inspired luxury vehicle.

No one can see this thing on the streets and not go "whoa wtf" and that's their goal.

However, it's practically a safe bet that we're going to see a higher performance model since Lexus is in a state of adding hybrid drive and turbocharging everything. We might even see a cheaper version with the 4.6L (maybe even the 3.5L) to target the 640i.

BMW does offer a 6MT on the 6-Series, but how many of those variants they actually sell? Probably a lot less than the automatic.
