But what makes me cringe is people with N/A cars who have a gauge pod with vacume/boost, air to fuel ratio etc...even a oil pressure gauge that's not plugged. But the gauge lights are plugged.

Sure, tuning it once and leaving it at that would work, if you had a constant humidity, air pressure, fuel quality and fuel type. Also, boost is a major factor to AFR, as would be intercooler/intake heat soak. It's just one of the first things I'd like to know in an engine. It's also awesome if you've got a carb'ed engine, really helps with to get the jetting and such right.
