I've got an 01 Grand Am GT right now, it's pretty shitty to work on. Are some of the older Pontiacs like this one easier to work on?

Any car with RWD and over 100hp can be drifted. Get a daily or beater that fits this description, go find some dirt cheap tires at a junkyard, and burn off the rubber at a parking lot or track.

"Drift cars" with 1000hp don't take any style or skill since you can initiate drifting just by stepping on the gas. That's no fun.
>>
Also, what about something newer than 03 or so?

If it's anything you're going to feel bad about losing, don't buy it.

My firebird hasn't given me much trouble. Only real bitch was changing the fuel pump and gas tank.

Use your context clues, im not OP.

OP wants an 03 or newer car, I bashed on him for financing a drift car, because banks wont finance shitboxes older than 03.

i want to call you a faggot for assuming hes financing with such little information
but 2003, why 2003? must be some stupid bank rule

I usually pay out of pocket.

Well, last year it was 03, now it should be 04.

Big name banks dont like to finance cars that are over 12 years old. Bubba bank'n'pays will but not the big names.

Can't believe nobody said foxbody. It does both, albeit not at the same time.

Came here to say this.

Grab a 325i for $2000. Doesn't matter if the interior and electronics are fucked because you are going to drift it. Huge aftermarket and those engines and 5spd manuéls are reliable.
>>
>>14171623
How do the 318i's hold up?
>>
>>14169905
anything long, 2 door and rwd.
>>
>>14171631
Is that still the inline 6?

Idk, best friend was all about the E36's and always had 325's, 28's, and a couple M3's. He had one 316i (the little hatch) and flipped it real quick but it ran good.

The 325i and 328i will have the power and torque for drifts and drags, plus so much aftermarket for that M50/52. Idk if you will be breaking the tires loose as much with the 318. There are also lots of supercharger kits you can throw on those cars without a ton of work. And sometimes you can find them used from an old project car. That's the best thing about the E36's, parts fucking everywhere.

Just make sure it's a manual. It makes a huge difference in those cars. Driving an auto vs a 5spd, the 5spd feels like you have an extra 50HP.

I have driven a bmw e36 328i with a very clunky auto transmission
it would lurch badly when shifting into and out of second gear
mind the car had already done 100000 miles at that point
