e46 vs e36

i'd actually say the e46 is more of a driver's car, more fine tuned suspension and steering and all that. the e36 is just more raw which isn't necessarily good

interesting how even the E46 was already so much more bloated than the direct predecessor

E46 easily. The car handles like a laser beam, is significantly faster, much better looking. After you drive the two, your answer will be clear

I drive an E46 330ci, its a good and quick car.
Very easy handling and comfortable at higher speed for long journeys.

E46 definitely drives better, but I personally think the E36 looks way better. The E36's biggest flaw is it's power, it still handles very well and has very direct steering. Can't really go wrong with either.

I own an E36. Go for the E46, you'll be happier.

Don't get me wrong, I love my E36. But there are so many squeaks and rattles. These cars are getting to be nearly 20 years old (or already 20+ if you get a 1995 or 1996). The E46 is younger car. It's going to be more solid as far as build quality (asides from the few quirks from the E36 that made their way to the E46, like rear shock mounts not being reinforced enough).

What's the difference between e36 and e46?

What do you guy's think of me getting a e36 318 or a lower trim model with a dead engine or crap one, but has a mint interior and ok body for a ford 302v8 swap?

I plan to overhaul the suspension and brakes.
I want a rwd sedan that is nice inside and a beast on the road for as cheap as I can make it.

318is is great value if you can find one. One of my old coworkers picked one up for £600 (or so he said), and loved it to bits.
