look at thischump car championship. if its on here, its probably worth buying.
note the highest placed MX5 is currently 21st
>>14162241
Aren't Miatas heavily penalized in chump car
>>14162249
ah maybe, this isnt actually chumpcar, i just thought it was similar to the american series so used that.
The cup is actually just NA2000.
Pre 2000 year, 2L or under. NA only.
MX5's arent penalized
the only cars banned that i know of are CRX Si-R and Integra Type-R. (theres also some special snowflake variant of the Nissan pulsar but i cant remember the exact name.)
>>14162266
Nissan pulsar N15 "Autech Version"
is the special snowflake version thats banned, only 576 made for homologation. had an SR20DE making 180bhp

>>14162335
really? man americans have some really weird restrictions. you can get a teggy type r but no AE111 da fuq
>>14162266
also just wanna point out this series has a $2500 claim rule, so for 5k you could potentially get something a bit more powerful, i was just using this series as a good basis for recommendations.

Toyota decided not to sell it here because the levin sold badly. People just bought the celica instead.
During that era Toyota basically had the super beater tier Paseo (Cynos) and Tercel and sold the Celica as the upper model.
We also never got the performance versions of the celica.
In America true FF performance really isn't a big deal unless you're Honda.
>>14162212
Shut the fuck up you're never going to get a $6000 Integra Type R unless it's a shell or you live outside North America.
In which case a cheap GC WRX STI is a better car
>>14162344
They imported about 4300 in
heres the next 20 ish cars.
This series has 120 ish entrants, they run 4 grids of 30 cars, each getting 3 heats and then a final.
>>14162358
Never got the performance versions of the celica?
So you never got any GT4 / AWD versions?
>>14162372
We did get the GT-Four in the T180 (ST185) model but not after that. They are exceedingly rare.
>>14162372
No, only the ST165/185
Neither were honestly good cars. We got the DSM (Evo 1-3 drivetrain with AWD, but worse handling while having way bigger aftermarket, less weight, easier to work on and modify) instead. And the 7th Gen GTS (2ZZGE)
>>14162368
There were no AE111 Levins imported into the USA.
>>14162358
To be fair the last Celica was approaching Type R levels of FF performance
Needed a few gearing tweaks and a LSD but it was pretty good.
>>14162423

Same problem the Focus SVT has.
Which is why turboing a 2.3L Duratec or 2.0L Zetec focus is the way to go. Reason the ZX2 Escort is a worse choice is it doesn't use the MTX-75 transmission. LSDs for the MTX-75 transmission are readily available.
>>14162174
Does it also have to run reliably?
>>14162174
SVT focus.

>>14165610
not even close to the turbo lol. The turbo is unreliable as shit.
>>14165653
I've seen NAs be equally unreliable
>>14165667
Jalopnik recommended non turbo 944 and 924 to teens because they said it was a reliable rwd platform
>>14165903
