I'm ready for these holidays to be over. They fuck with my work schedule so much since I get the holiday off but normally have to make it up on Saturday.

I probably could've gotten today off. But if you don't work the days before and after the holiday, you don't get paid for it. I'm taking off Monday anyway. And called off last Monday. Also the last like 5 holidays including thanksgiving, I got that Saturday off.

I did jack shit today. Was supposed to race in the shitbox hangover race at the local dirt track today, but it's been so damn warm and rainy that the track and parking lot is just mud. The ground should be well frozen by now with at least a good helping of snow but this winter's weather has been fucked. It's been postponed to next weekend, but at last I get a little more time to get both mine and my buddies car ready.

I normally work M-F. Weeks like the past 2 weeks get fucked up because they try and move a lot of the stops up 1-day so I will get a couple Tues stops on top of my regular Mon route, a few Wed stops on Tues, etc. That way Saturday isn't super heavy. But then they will cut a lot of routes on Saturday, so some people will have 2 people on each truck. But if you don't get help, it will be a regular shitty day. Plus Saturdays always seem to be stops like CVS, Family Dollar, etc where I have to stock the merchandise and they take forever.

Plus we are short a bunch of guys lately. A few guys quit within the last month, one dude got fired (I took his old route), a cople guys are hurt, and a cople more on vacation. So we should have ~30 trucks on the road everyday plus a couple backup drivers, and we only have 20 right now. Every day the past couple weeks has been 11hrs+.

The need to hire and train some guys ASAP. It sucks tho because even after they hire people, it will still take at least a month to train them, and another couple months for them to git gud and run a real route.

Cuz I'm chillin' after recovering a 2004 shitbox Malibu whose Ecoturd 4 cylinder engine mixed oil and water.

Owner was visiting a friend when it died at his hotel, so he gave it to me since I had a trailer to drag it off. Self and bro will strip it for a few parts then it will become my scrap metal dumpster until I fill and sell it.

A few hundred dollars worth of dead car for free and a place to toss my scrap is a nice beginning to 2016.

Cuz i spent the whole friday looking for some 300zx.
I found two TTs and a NA in my area.
One of the TTs is in worse shape than the other two but still looks decent, it also has aftermarket rims but nothing too hideous.
What should i look out for in these cars? i know nothing about them and i've been DD a 99 altima.

Injectors fail all the time check if they have been upgraded to the new style of the car is before 94 (nico club has tons of threads on this)
Make sure the car boosts to around 10psi if it's higher the car has been modded, it's fine as long as they've had a tune to accompany it. If not the car is likely running to lean.
Make sure there's strong vacuum at idle (near the bottom of the gauge) if not there's probably a vac leak
Check if hicas (4 wheel steering) is still in the car, if so its probably shot and it'll be impossible to align the rear.

ask if timing belts been changed.
check oil pressure
if turbo let someone spool them up a bit and look at the tubing and vacuum lines
check oil- #1 cause of death for these engines and as above listen for an off noise

The oil filter I just installed seems to be leaking a little oil. I hand tightened it pretty hard, so not really sure what the problem is. Now I remember why I use KNs with the bolt at the end.

Had to use a screw driver to take it off. I forgot all my oil filter wrenches are for cars. Time to add some more tools to my toolbox.

Well it's held on the first so it's excepted that your goign to be hungover from new years.
There's usually ~150 cars entered, which is broken down into 4, 6 and 8 cylinders, 50 laps each. Just stock shitboxes, pull the glass and lights, and have fun. Imagine 50 cars that are no longer road worthy racing around a icy, snow,y frozen dirt track. If a car catches fire on the track, they don't stop the race, you just have to drive around it.
