Why is /o/ averse to matte paint?
I'm not, I'm painting my car with it. It's a bitch to shoot and deal with though, better make sure it's what you really want
because it looks like shit. It is most commonly used by mexicans and stancefaggots on their civics because they can't afford real paint, so they just spray paint it matte.
I'm not completely, but it certainly depends on the car. Solid color matte blacks and matte grays tend to look like development cars to me. They've made some more interesting ones with metallics and pearls with matte clear that look better. I saw a matte white S class with a white interior that looked fantastic, for example. But 90% of matte cars look like shit.
From a practical standpoint, touchups are really hard, and essentially have to repaint most of the car to make something small match (or leave it).
Finally, poorfags need to stop making their shitboxes matte because it looks both hilarious and sad at the same time.

I'm not so long as it's done well.

looks like a greasy negro

This.
And this pretty much goes for any and every mod.
Because 98% of the time you get this

This isn't even the worst I've seen.
Just looks a little dirty.
I don't mind matte paint
Just don't like matte black, shit looks like primer
>>14154094
Me neither, but it's pretty fucking bad
Bad job & bad car, plus the stupid moudlings don't help
>>14154090
More like this
When done right, bretty gud.
When done wrong, kek.

You're not implying the one you posted looks good, are you?

Breddy good, but not incredible.
>>14154156
Implying? No.
Asserting? Yes.
It is rare for it to look bad when it is done from the factory.
tl:dr matte looks great on expensive cars and shit on shitboxes

It's obvious the homemade shitbox ones are terrible. But just because it comes from the factory doesn't mean it looks good. It might be technically good, but aesthetically even high end manufacturers have some hideous matte options.
And like someone said earlier, matte black always look like primer. You need metallics in them for it to look good.
>>14154250
Pretty much.
>>14154104
That looks like it was painted with that high temperature spray paint.
At least it won't damage the paint when it catches on fire.

looks shit on most cars because you lose surface reflections
