Toyota & Lexus, are they the best?
>>14151215
Literally the same thing. Just one is "luxurious" camrys
>>14151215
Hondas are pretty damn reliable. Friend of mine has one that's been going strong for 300k miles and not that much needed maintenance.
are there any more reliable automanufactors?
Honda tops my list
>>14151236
Suzuki, Subaru, Mazda and Volvo are up there too.
toyota landcruiser
lexus LS's and Avalons
Ford E-class but then rapist van stigma
>>14151227
Since when are Toyotas rwd
>>14151258
Volvo was, is and will be GOAT for ever.
>>14151258
>Suzuki
I heard Suzuki's build quality was kind of shitty so they stopped selling in the US although i could be wrong maybe they stopped selling here for another reason. (their bikes are good though)
>Volvo
I know earlier Volvos are built solid but newer ones i'm unsure about.
>>14151504
2013 Outlander Sport owner here like pic related. My company helped me get a car and this was it. It's really reliable and pretty much never had any reliability issues.
>>14151215
>lexus
>>14151258
>Mazda
breddy good too
>>14151215
>Toyota
Not quite as good as Lexus but still one of the top. There is a difference in build quality between the two nameplates.
Boring as hell cars, though.
>>14151880
forgot image
>>14151232
>honda
Pretty much matches Toyota level, falls a little bit short of Lexus. Slightly more interesting to drive than Toyotas, especially the Fit and Accord.
>>14151258
>subaru
>volvo
kek no
>>14151891
keep fucking forgetting images
>>14151326
what the fuck did you just say?
>>14151258
>Suzuki
Haven't been sold in the US for too long, no longer any relevant data available, but they were pretty much shit for their last decade of US sales.
>Subaru
Pretty decent, but it really depends on WHICH Subaru. They also have a reputation of not aging well as they approach 200k miles.
>>14151258
>Volvo
Pretty mediocre. The days of indestructible everlasting Volvos are several decades behind us.
>>14151326
>on /o/
>hasn't heard of Initial D and its autistic shit
Welcome first newfag of the year
And the one no one has mentioned yet, Acura.
Acuras are closer to Hondas in construction than Lexuses are to Toyotas, and it shows in the relibility ratings. Still pretty decent.
The problem with these ratings is that, at least on the west coast where I live, the reputation of Honda/Toyota/Acura/Lexus drives their used prices up an incredible amount. There are enough people who literally won't buy anything except hondas and toyotas, that where you pay as much for a 200k mile Toyota as you would pay for a 80k mile Chevrolet. That mileage gap erases the reliability gap... even with the good design and build quality, by 300k miles these cars are getting ready for an internal engine failure that will send them to the junkyard.
I hear this price gap/reputation tax is not nearly as bad in the midwest or back east, though.
you can get 10 years and 300k miles from a toyota and maybe have to replace a waterpump once or twice and other things like belts or a hose or two
by 300k is when you have to replace things like components for the suspension
the leather starts cracking on a toyota right around 10 years, that's basically when toyota wants you to trade up to a new car. while a bmw with leather will start cracking within a year if you drive a lot and don't condition the seats where the toyota leather doesn't require any maintenance
also bmw suspension components won't even last 100k miles
>>14151870
that '13 and '14. E-Class looks pretty good. Thoughts?
>>14151904
Ugh these are so hard to find. Been trying to buy one but I'm about to give up and just buy a Targa C6 Corvette
>>14152488
import one from europe
>>14151215
Consumer reports says Honda/Acura and Toyota/Lexus are bestest. Subaru seems to be third.
>>14151976
Why is there no rating for the NSX?
Thanks for posting these, btw. Are these available online or should I download these?
>>14151232
My '04 Accord has nearly 220,000 miles. Still going strong.
>>14151232
Can confirm. I've got 235k miles on my CR-V, wife has 275k miles on her Civic, both still going strong with no issues. This part of the country the road salt is what usually ends up killing Hondas, with getting totalled by a soccer mom who doesn't know how to drive in the snow as the 2nd leading cause of Honda death.
>>14152495
Man I dont know shit about importing. Not sure I'm comfortable with that. Have you done it? If it was easy, everyone would be doing it... I'm not the only person who wants a Supra
>>14151227
When did the Camry become RWD and available with a V8?
>>14152557
it's easy until it gets here, then you have to convert the car to meet dot standards
>>14151326
They used to make a ton of RWD cars.
Every time people talk about reliable cars, Toyota comes up. It is fitting that reliable luxury cars are Lexus vehicles. Toyota and Subaru gives Consumer Reports a boner and I'm working and saving for a down payment for a Corolla.
>>14152488
At least you can afford one. Keep looking.
>>14151504
Protip: the Geo Metro is just a rebadged Suzuki.
Mitsubishi is the one that makes turds.
>>14152692
>>14151326
Does Toyota produce any CARS that are RWD? I know they have trucks and SUVs, but any actual Toyota-badged cars? Toyobaru doesn't really count, because it's a Scion and a Subaru too.
>>14151517
>it's really reliable
>never had any reliability issues
How reliable IS the reliability though? Like, do you feel that you can really rely on the reliability to be reliable? Really?
Also,
>expecting a two year old mallcrawler to have experienced any major issues
Give it another 4-5 years, then talk about reliability. A car's true measure is taken when it's been used for 100,000 miles.
Maybe it's just the people that buy them but ford rangers and toyota Tacoma seen to last forever I've got a few that come in for oil with over 500000 mi
Also Honda pilots last forever and may very well be one of the best suvs ever created
>>14152801
found one
>>14153004
I said the Toyobaru doesn't count.
>>14153007

>>14151215
no, definitely Chrysler and Fiat
>>14153013
GS Goy put a Toyota badge on his stupid Lexus oldman car, doesn't make it a Toyota.
>>14152801
They produce the Mark X which is a rear wheel drive sedan. 3.5 V6 engine. The only thing it shares with the Lexus GS is the engine I think.
>>14152613
Since the ISF and RCF.
>>14151215
Toyota/Lexus have 8 of the Top 15 on the Cars.com Worry Free Index for 2015:
https://www.cars.com/articles/toyota-lexus-top-carscoms-2015-worry-free-index-1420682622926/
Consumer Reports has them as the number 1 and 2 most reliable brands.
Case closed.

What defines a very reliable from a lemon in 2015
>>14151976
So that BMW being unreliable thing is a myth?
>>14154942
Is it an FCA product?
Is it a cheap VW?
Is it Korean?
Is it small American car with an automatic transmission?
If you answered yes to any of that, you dun fucked up. Otherwise, you'll probably be OK...more or less
>>14154983
I meant like parts wise now days you don't have cars built like a dodge neon or a Chevy caviler anymore
>>14155016
Dodge still builds cars like a Dodge Neon.
And while most other car makers have gotten away from, pure mechanical lemons, you still have plenty of cars that get bought back as lemons due to electrical/computer related issues
>>14154264
And not single one of those cars would I consider buying.
>Consumer Reports
Come on now.jpg
Best car ever.
>>14155028
I wouldn't say that of course every car has its horror stories but I don't see a 2011+ FCA have any more than, say a 2011+ Chevy
>>14155042
that doesnt look like an impala
>>14151227
Most of their cars have their own platforms, engines, etc. Honda and Acura or VW and Audi are much closer than Toyota and Lexus. The only cars they share are the CT (Prius) and ES (Avalon platform) AFAIK.
>>14152801
Toyota soarer...rwd with a 1jz, 2j, or v8
>>14154981
Except for minor electrical shit, pretty much yeah.
The notable exception is when they start forgetting that they're BMW and trying to do shit BMW doesn't do (i.e making anything with a turbocharger or with an engine other than an inline six) and the reliability suffers. Which is why the 335i is worse than the rest in that picture.
>>14154983
>Is it a cheap VW?
What do you mean, LPG? Do you consider VWs cheap or do you mean cheap one of VWs, like a Polo?
I want to know one's opinion on new VWs, I really like the Jetta although I'm yurop and there may be difference in quality.
>>14151904
>>14151941
Yeah back in the day they did, nowadays they got nothing exempt the frs but that doesn't count. I'm talking about modern cars here faggot not your 80s meme machines
>>14155475
It's called the 1uz
>>14151215
Buy a Corolla they last decades
Old Mercedes benzes and RWD Volvos will outlast anything mentioned in this thread.
PROVE ME WRONG [spoiler]You can't.
>>14151941
>autistic
Talking like that, tch! I bet you don't even have the guts for a downhill duct-tape deathmatch.
>>14157521

>>14157608
Most W123 and W124 Mercs are still actively used on daily basis all around the world, many of them have millions of miles under their belt and are still going strong with little to no maintenance done to them.
As for Volvos do I even need to say anything about 240?
