Mudflaps
>>
>tfw no garage
otherwise i would have done the timing chain guide job weeks ago, not really feasible to do outdoors in the massachusetts sort of winter
>>
soz OP going to use your thread for my stupid question

Do cars with more cylinders like a v8 mustang vs a v6 mustang have smaller cylinders or something like that?
>>
>>14148825
I am infinitely jealous of that lift. How much did that cost?
>>
>>14148836
is that a perrin exhaust?
>>
gonna b goin 2 town on my new onahole
>>
The plastic piece on my clutch petal broke so I have to reach down and finger fuck the clutch switch when I go to start. Gonna rig up a hidden button to bypass and install remote start. Should be fun
>>
>>14148946
Bigger engine block m8
>>
>>14148946
Depends on their displacement. Comparing a 3.0l V6 to a 4.0l V8, the cylinders are the same size and the V8 simply has a bigger block like >>14148982 said.
In other cases, let's say something like Mazda's 1.8l V6 to any 2.0l inline 4, the V6 has way smaller cylinders, or when comparing that 2.0l inline 4 to the Viper's massive 8.4l V10, the cylinders of the V10 are way bigger.
>>
>>14148982
>>14148995
Cheers mates!
>>
>>14148917
You could also just pay someone to do it so you stay cozy warm, despite the stupid crap poor people fling at each other on /o/.

I want to do this so hard.

Also Motor mounts.
>>
>>14149112
Why do you need new motor mounts in your 2 or 3 year old car? So you can have your teeth vibrated out?

will drop cash later for new mishimoto or isis radiator and silicone hoses.

quite expensive and i'm leery of most shops, more fun to do it myself anyway
>>
>>14149231
Oh, sorry. I assumed you had a brz based on the post you were replying to. I figured only brz fags would want mudflaps on their car.
This is not bait, why do you want mudflaps?
>>
>>14149285
Total ricer status, I just dig the way they look, no other reason.
>>
>>14149297
so did your motor mounts wear out then?
>>
Stuffin a 6v53 Detroit in a 81 pickup. Fuck the environment.
>>
>>14149303
Lower mount is dead, and the Hydraulic mount is causing passenger side shaking/rattling noise.

Going to replace all 3 mounts at the same time.
>>
>>14149311
Man I have a noise I can't find, I think after I get a lift next month I'm just going to replace all of the front suspension.

>>14149320
Right, be a faggot if you like, leading cause of the noise is the hydraulic mount being bad, (especially with the car at 130k miles), as well I've been under the car, the trans/motor mount is dead, it's missing half of the grommet both of the frame and engine side.
>>
>>14149297
>Total ricer status
huh ?
up until about the 90s almost every car had mud flaps
I wonder where they got to
>>
>>14149328
replacing all my shit because it has 150k on it makes me a faggot? Or the idea that I simply don't have interest in trying to replace the entire front suspension flat back? I don't even know how you would unload the springs flatback.

is it possible to lighten the flywheel by the mass that the turbine adds ?
>>
>>14149505
I'm usually more paranoid I'll screw up the pad placement than I am about the lift failing. I've been spoiled, it's hard to imagine not using one now.
>>
>>14149965
yea the pad placement can be a little awkward on cars that do not have normal jacking points

I much prefer hoist or gantry
even car pits are somewhat workable with jacks

my co workers prefer the lift for better access to the wheels
but I just cant shake the fear and use them casualty
the new one at my work keeps loosening the bolts that hold it to the floor
and I'm the only one who notices
>>
>>14148825

>>
>>14151449

Word of advice.

Either drive on the CV axle with the torn boot until it starts clicking or buy a new CV axle completely. You have no clue how much water and other bullshit got into the axle before you sealed it up again and it's really just a band-aid on a wound that needs stitches. It's a waste of time and money.
>>

>>
>>14151450
>>14151458

Is this 5ho? I see a ton of amsoil shit so I'm assuming so

Did your trans shit the bed or did you just go with something new for more power over the MT-82?
>>
>>14151479
I haven't changed it yet, but I'm planning on taking the whole axle out and cleaning out all the goobies and checking for damage.

That said, if it's fucked I'll know pretty soon and may end up just buying a whole new one anyway.
Either way I'm putting it down to a learning experience, so I'll take your words under advisement and look into a new axle as well. Thanks anon.
>>
>>14151486

No.

I am only using Amsoil because the shop that rebuilt that transmission says you must use Amsoil ATF or the warranty is void. It's bullshit, and they are conveniently one of the only shops in town that sell the stuff...
>>
>>14149505
They're probably fine for euro, jap, Korean cars.
not fucking stupid yank tanks.
>>
>>14149505

I used to repair cranes, hoists, and car lifts for awhile when I was in-between careers. A lot of the trusted lift companies are now just buying chinese shit and slapping their sticker on it.

Your best bet for a quality lift is to find a dealership that is closing and try to buy one of their lifts that is pre-2000's. A lot of stuff from the 20th century is just way more stout and practical.

If you want to be loud, you'll be competing with non-road legal exhausts. Like mine.

spent 2 days earlier in this week deleting a stock bose system in a z32 with my pal on his car, pretty good time considering we dove into it with just diagnosis in mind; then bought a headunit/speaker package without any further gameplan other than knowing we'd have to be fabricating custom mounts for the new speakers and figuring out bypassing the bose over-engineering.
