Is this the best enthusiast car?
Looks old and boxy so that's good.
Plenty of ways to make the exterior very appealing. Single round headlights. Smoked headlights. Crosshairs in headlights. New grille. Bbs wheels. List goes on.
Interior is very minimalistic which is what people seem to want around here. Less buttons which means lightness.
Easy to fix. These cars are very simple. Even a ten year old can learn
Parts are cheap. Parts are cheap!
Engine options are ok. Easy to do a 1.8t swap if you care too but this car isn't about going super fast it's about enjoying the experience and revving that now old classic engine.

only downside is that here in burgeristan it's hella expensive to insure, because of fucktards that drives like shit and hug trees with the front bumpers
newfriend here, what car is this?
>>14135038
VW Golf Mk.2 a.k.a the last respectable Golf
>Enthusiast car
>Nothing about how it drives or how fun it is
r u an retardeds
>>14135038
Mk1 or mk2 golf. Basically the retarded but better known cousin of the Vauxhall chevette
There are lots of equally fun cars though op, for similar price brackets.
MX5's though ragged on do have a good aftermarket And are cheap
AW11's same again with the 3SGTE (2l turbo) swaps being well documented.
Pug 205gti a little rarer but great competitor (won the 2l cup last year)
Vauxhall chevette
Toyota starlet (turbo version)
Kp60 / ke70 Toyotas were cheap but price has increased these last few years swaps to 4ag(z/t)e or 3sgte are well documented
Lots of old bimmers
>>14134788
I rather an EF hatch
>>14134788
>Smoked headlights.
>Crosshairs in headlights.
Are you purposely trying to look like a faggot?
>>14135072
>Basically the retarded but better known cousin of the Vauxhall chevette
The chevette is RWD you dumb fuck
>>14135165
And my dick is 7 inches.
I'm sorry I thought we were now saying things that don't fucking matter
I thought that was an integrale in the catalog. I was like "hey that's a good car, op!", and then I saw it was a shitty VW.
Shame, really.
>>14135174
How can they be related if they are completely different, designed by different companies and manufactured a decade apart?
>>14135191
True. I was just saying RWD or FWD doesn't really matter when relating two cars, it's only a technicality.
>>14135199
But there aren't related in anyway you fucking retard
>>14135238
Point still stands.
>>14135178
I thought the exact same thing. One day I will have my Intergale and 037
>>14135142
Whatever Milato I get boner everyone
>>14134788
>Easy to do a 1.8T swap
lol no its not. VR6 swaps are easy. Half of them out there are VR6 swapped or 2.0 ABA swapped because the original engine is a turd. The parts are cheap because they made over ten million MK2 based cars in China and Mexico (I actually think they still make MK2s there, might be South Africa)
They're good cars, just most of them are rusty or junked from the shitty mechanical fuel system that didn't run well half the time. EF/DA Hondas from the same time period held up way better in terms of reliability, rust proofing, more numbers sold, etc. I actually fanboy MK2s but their mechanical FI system really worked against them along with memetical VW build quality.
If I found a mint Montana Green MK2 16V I wouldn't hesitate to buy one. They're classics at this point, the FWD E30. I remember being in high school trolling CL for one, back when they were more common 5 years ago. As soon as I turned 18 in 2010 its like they 80% of them disappeared, along with AWD DSMs

t. turk/bosnian
>>14136211
Aren't Intergales like 50 grand? They're a collectors car now.
>>14136277
They are!
>>14135199
What the fuck are you on and where do i get it?!
10/10 you got me?
Explain, especially with regards to the application of power at the limit of lateral traction.
Plox and ty.
>>14136277
50k is pushing it, bringatrailer has a few that sold for around 35k I think.
>>14134788
VWs are fucking gutter tier trash cars and that abomination you posted is a lethargic ass FWD shitbox at that. If you had any self respect you would post a car from that period that wasn't a lame ass FF 4-banger nazi mobile.
>>14135238
Both competed for hot hatch / cheap tuner market.
The chevette is regarded as the original hot hatch however the golf gti is the more well known. Its also retarded by its ff layout rather than the kp60 starlet/ chevette's FR layout.
>>14136277
Nah I imported mine from Japan for 14k in mint condition with a few aftermarket buts (suspension, ECU)
My ex bought hers for 7k good condition inside but the red was sunfaded as fuck.
>>14136861
>The chevette is regarded as the original hot
bullshit. the HS and GTI were released in the same year (1976) the A112 Abarth and Simca 1100 Ti predate both.

It's a 325i you dumb fucks, it has an inline 6.
>>14138947
who fucking cares
One of my favourite tuner cars that I can remember was a VR6 Golf.
>>14134788
You're right except for the bit about the "classic" engine.
Mine has an 8v RV, it's wheezy and gutless and not really much fun.
Fortunately there's a mk4 R32 engine in my garage gathering parts.
>>14139522
you're right the engines are dreadful when compared to the competition.
i don't think vw has made a decent petrol engine ever
you can easily get 1000+ hp out of those things
>>14139668
>easily
>>14139673
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GVpj_lof6Us
easy
just put the parts on, dummy
>>14139680
How many 1000hp 4 bangers have you built?
>>14139684
well, that golf is one. two other golfs makes it 3.
the mitsu colt didnt quite reach 1000hp tho, just around 950.
>>14139692
you're gonna need to provide proof anon
>>14139692
Sorry guy no one believes you
