I like my Crown Vic and all but a large part of the appeal is that the older ones cost pocket change. A newer one with lower miles is nice and all but for the cost you have much nicer options available to you too.

Way too much for that car. If there are no holes in the body/interior, everything works like the horn airbags and rear doors, and the rest of the car looks decent I wouldn't pay more than $5,000. Also cycle through the odometer button, there will be an idle hour meter. It should be under 1,000 to justify a price near that much, anything more is patrol car tier.

I'm about to seal the deal on a 2006 myself. If at all possible, find a Crown Vic that didn't get fucked with by cops. The one I'm eyeing spent its time with a local government doing non-police shit, so the airbags haven't been fucked with, the back doors aren't fucked with, and it didn't spend huge amounts of time idling in between jackrabbit starts and hitting things.

a limited slip differential makes it so your inside tire and outside tire can no longer turn independently. The problem with police cars is that they have very high idle times. While the miles appear low, the engines have been idling for long periods of time. I'd suspect a car that shows 63k actually has the wear equivalent of a car with 100k.
