I don't really understand the connotations of "based" but the new Impala is a great car for people who aren't looking for a sporty coupe, or to spend the moon on luxury options. Everything you naturally touch on the inside feels nice, it's honestly quite quick, it handles competently, it's got a ton of space inside, the seats are long road trip comfortable, and it gets decent mileage.

I dont mind paying for premium because i know ill be getting the power i like out of a well tuned engine. And i know you dont know what certified pre owned means because no american car company does it. It means they take a turned in lease and return it back to factory condition. Anything thats not factory spec gets replaced besides the driveline of course.

I can't get over how stupid that carve over the rear wheel arch looks, especially with the belt line crease going above it.

The front of it and silhouette is actually okay, but those lines really fuck it up.

I'm going to be honest here. I had a 2014 Impala V6 as a rental car last year, and my impression of it is that it's great for the price.

The pros:
- decently quick
- very comfy on the highway
- decent mpgs
- nice options available
- good price

Cons:
- very easy to spin front wheels
- transmission doesn't shift very smoothly all the time (this could be because I had a beat rental one though)
- not exactly a "canyon carver"

Overall, for about $30k, it's a pretty damn good car. Interior was better than the Camry I rented and I don't remember any squeaks or rattles at all.
