Financing a car was the dumbing financial decision I've ever made. My sudden job loss has put me two months behind bills and my car loan is at the head of my crushing debt.

I got a job at a car dealership at the time I was transporting in a broken down 98 ford escort with no A/C and an engine that wouldn't start the first time. 2 weeks into my job my cars clutch and transmission totally breaks down and would be worth more to fix than the cars worth. Because of this, working in a car dealership was the beginning of the end.

At the age of 20 I was approved for a $30,000 loan with no down payment as a first time buyer. I still don't know why they approved me. I have a 700+ credit score but still. I decided that the 2016 Mustang looked the best so I went with that. And I chose the base line because I didn't dare want to buy something I couldn't afford right? I wish I could go back in time and slap myself in the face.

Fast forward 2 months later to now and my debt has reached into the thousand along with the car loan. Getting a loan for a car was a treacherous decision to my financial future and it was all based on an emotional purchase. My debt is crushing me and the bank wants their money, they let me know daily. If I don't pay it in 9 days, my account will be looked at by the reposition department. I feel like an idiot and a fool. I couldn't have made a worse financial decision at this age of my life.

I've tried to sell it for the past two months on Craigslist and autotrader. But for the bank to release the title, the car has to be paid in full, and for it to be paid in full, I would need money I don't have. And I can't get a personal loan because I have a horrible debt to income ratio and no job. Even if I got a job I would need history there for a loan. I can't sell the car for what I owe because it's not worth that anymore. It's a vicious spiral of paralyzing debt.

If you have any advice for me I would like to hear it.

ausfag here there aint no jobs here either so i'd imagine that option is out

Just do what everyone else does and live with their GenX/Boomer parents for a while

Get your car stolen and collect insurance money. Hopefully you were smart enough to get the shit that pays back your loan in full if you are underwater on the loan.
>>

>If you have any advice for me I would like to hear it.

No. Unless he's in the car when it goes into the lake.
>>
>>14102295

You're the one who took out at a 30,000 loan on a meme car.
>>
>>14102261
What did you get fired for?
>>
Yeah, OP, total your car. Wrecked insurance rates are better than bad credit.
>>
>>14102317
I said drive, not push. It's the only way to make it seem like an accident anyway.
>>
>>14102261
move back in with your parents. work at wendy's or some shit. pay off the car.

this is the last thing you want to hear, but possibly your only way out.

or let them take it and buy a shitbox. just know you will never finance anything ever again.

this story is so typical it makes my balls ache.

>>14102330
>person is late on their payments on a car the insurance company knows the person can't afford
>2 months later the car is found in a lake

Yeah the insurance company will NEVER catch on
>>
>tfw I dread my car loan because I wanted to be debt free by May, but now after my student loans are paid off I probably won't have my car paid off until late Fall 2016.
I'm just naturally afraid of debt in general, even though mine is affordable to me.
>>
>>14102261
Yeah, either have your parents cosign a refinanced loan or have them take over payments. Get a job after (dont be fucking picky).

Either way, theyre going to lord that mustang over you for the rest of their lives.
>>
What a little bitch
I'm 23 and bought a house
I own 4 cars
And I don't make that much money
There are jobs out there, go to work source or whatever the as equivalent is.

Thanks for your story, OP. Screenshotted, saved, uploaded to both iCloud, imgur, and random open ownCloud instances I found running. I also threw it on S3 under an account whose amazon key was on GitHub.

I also submitted it to the FBI.

Your story should live on forever. No one should ever suffer your kind of pain. That kind of pain is even worse than when your girl cheats on you (she always will), because then at least you can kick her out at little cost to you.

You can't kick debt out. Debt stays.

Pic related.

OP is a being a faggot. General rule of thumb is to not spend more than 10% of your income on car payment. If you can't comfortable go a year without a job, you have no business financing a 30k meme car. My friend bought a brand new 2015 IS350 F-Sport trim and he was so fucking close to the margin that if monthly payment was another 20-30 bucks higher his paycheck would be in the negative. Needless to say he can never fill a gas or hang out with us anymore. Fuck that moron. You sound just like him OP.

Just an acquaintance, he's a housemate of my friend. Everyone else that lived with are MUCH more well off and are driving current gen of E350, 335i and Stingray. I bet it's the peer pressure and wanting to fit in that made him do dumb shit. He was driving a few year old Hyundai Sonanta before. Fucking idiot, I'm getting light headed just talking about it.
>>
So your telling me that you have a fully functioning car and a place to stay and you can't find work ANYWHERE?

Because that's bullshit. Instead your spending your time trying to get consolation from NEETS on a taiwanese rocket building website when you should be out begging people for a job. You will find one if you look hard enough. You might even have to work two jobs. You dun goofed mate and this is the way you fix it. You work your ass off. Once you get positive in your numbers it will get better but debt is no joke and your gonna have to treat it as such.

Get moving boy.
>>
>>14104479
Are you telling me I should spend up to 800 on a car payment? That's more than my fucking rent.

life is long, you are not going to die if you wait 3 years to buy a car, and if you do, then you wont ever be conscious to get sad about it

>>14104708
you have to be a complete fucktard to use credit on cars tho

the only way its worth it is if you already have like 90% or more of the car price
>>
>>14102261
Take the car out into the forest/desert and burn it, report it stolen.
Done.
Just don't bring your cell phone with you and tell as few people as possible / nobody.
>>
I'd advise checking out Dave Ramsey. He's a financial radio host and adviser. He does a segment on car buying / ownership that I found very informative and judgmentally sound.

In the meantime I suggest finding a job...any job...to help alleviate your current financial burden until you can get back on your feet. I had a period of time where I worked any craigslist gig I could and made enough money to stay afloat.
>>
>>14102261
You have two choices here.
1. Renegotiate financing. Explain your situation, get them to hold off on the repo-ing while you find work, or at least reduce payments temporarily.
2. Voluntary repossession. Hand the car back, and they give you the balance already paid. Buy a cheap-ish used car while you find work.

Basically, you shouldn't have gotten such a big loan without a reliable job at such a young age. Your car's probably in negative equity.
>>
> shit, no car, need a new one
> I COULD buy a cheapo second-handy that gets me from point A to B while I work on finances so I can get a better can in the future
> Nah, '16 Mustang now, Future Me can deal with money problems

For real though, just talk to your bank or whatever institution you got your cash from. Turns out there are actual HUMAN PEOPLE working there who, on average, would prefer to work something out with you NOW so it means that you'll be able to keep paying money back LATER
>>
>>14104713
you're a complete fucktard if you have nothing in the bank ready for shitstorms at the same as going in to a loan you can only just afford.
to go under in just two months shows that's OP.
if you borrow 30 but have 10 in the bank as liquidity it's better than only borrowing 20 and putting the other 10 as a deposit.
>>
>no emergency fund

retards will retard
>>
Well done /o/ you trolled another unsuspecting retard into thinking that financing a car is a good idea.
>>
>>14107596
kek

It's fine if you're smart about it. I dropped 18000 Euros on a car but only after I worked my job long enough to be comfy that they won't just sack me. Also, if they do, I get 60% my wages until I find a new job. And I make over 3 grand net.

OP is just bad with money.
