I like the shooting brake, I really do, but when it comes down to buying such a compact sports car I'd rather have the roofless experience than the extra utility. The beauty of the Z3 is that even in Germany you can find type approved trailer hitches for it so you're not dependent on the cargo space of the coupe. This is not the case for say, an MX-5, and even SLKs only have bike racks offered for them, no real hitches.

Me personally? I'd buy a S2000.

I know they can be had for half the budget, but I'm not going to cheap on when I get one. I'll gladly pay the premium for a well taken care of low mile example.
