Why does everyone seems to forget that this car existed? Without it, we wouldn't the Model S.

Also, ITT: Cars forgotten by time
>>
We only forgot about it because there's a new one coming in 2017.

Reliant tried for a small FR roadster revival before Mazda pulled it off. Not sure exactly why it failed, but I think poor build quality and Reliant's utter lack of prestige were probably both factors. The looks probably didn't help, either.

Really? I wasn't aware.

Indeed.

You're right. And it does look rather nice. Not as good as the first, but still.

that front end ruins it
>>
>>14050111
Probably because it was shit. It's a Lotus Elise made fat and slow that costs like 3x as much and sometimes catches on fire.
>>
>>14050158
Elon needs to get better taste and make an electric muscle car.
>>
>>14050184
Dad get off 4chan.
>>
>>14050189
Hush. Don't tell your mother.
>>
>>14050184
An electric muscle car? Isn't that a contradiction?
>>
>>14050111
This is my favourite vehicle in GTA5.

Crazy heavy, but dat acceleration, and it's nice to cruize around with the noise.
>>
>>14050199
Anything with tons of torque qualifies, if you ask me. I've been playing with the idea of doing a diesel swap.
>>
>>14050168
Agree. It's nice otherwise, but it looks like they shrunk down and grafted on the grill of an anonymous family sedan (which is what they did)
>>
>>14050209
I think a proper muscle should sound like it. A electric muscle wouldn't have that glorious V8 noise.
>>
>>14050184
>>14050199
It's occurred to me that If someone made a muscle car that envirofags found upsetting for some reason, I'd actually be interested. The day I think about buying something without an engine is the day Elon Musk looks at something and says "dammit, that was not what I had in mind".

I have no idea what that says about my character.

I'd drive a Tesla as a daily, to be honest. For my week end car, I'd get a Nissan Skyline R32 GT-R.

In fact when I mentioned the diesel swap, that's because I can't afford the batteries for an electric swap.

>>14050229
Electric is cooler than people give it credit for. Electric is amazing. It's powerful. It's efficient. It's reliable with only 1 moving part. You don't need a gearbox - a single gear ratio will do and you reverse polarity to go backwards as fast as you go forwards, though conversions tend to use their gearboxes because it makes installation a simple drop-in.

Hardly a contradiction when you consider it.

Nah. If it was true then pic rel would fucking dominate. Miata was successful simply because it was a ridiculously good roadster at an affordable price.

I don't deny that electric cars can be good. I guess part of it is that all the electric cars we have now want to appeal to environmental consciousness first and auto enthusiasm second. It's more "we should make an electric sports car because electric is the future" than "we should make an electric sports car because that is the best sports car we can currently make".

I reckon I might well just be rationalising a prejudice with that, though.

>>14050411
They're not the only one to make all their cars look the same. Hyundai and Mitsubishi are guilty as well.

It was an is shit compared to the Tesla. It had nothing on the Elise apart from being faster in a straight line.
It didn't have a front trunk like the Model S. The batteries weren't on the floor like the Model S.
The roadster is the prove that you can't make good innovative cars based on old designs.

electric isnt necessarily "green" anyway. not yet
