It's actually not too unheard of. Target loves hiring ETLs fresh out of college all starting in the same range. Most don't even have any retail experience. They flush out from being overwhelmed by the atmosphere or because they aren't ready for how demanding it can be schedule wise at times. At the best times I might work 45-50 hour weeks. Right now 60-70hours isn't unheard of.

I'm not worried about doing poorly or anything - I knew what I was getting into. However I'm still only using it as a job to pay the bills until I get where I want to be.

Keep Civic clean and tidy so that it appreciates and makes me a return. Probably buy a Caterham 7. My works vehicle will go back in Feb 2017 so I might ask for a higher grade car and take a small pay cut.

What's nice is that the company leases the car as a "rental" which they then let me drive as a works vehicle. All I have to pay is a small fee to cover admin costs for the car, allow a driver to take it for servicing as and when, and I pay for the fuel which I get from the site's pump at a huge discount. Best of all it's nice and legal.

I use to have a good job at Mcdonalds except my gym (where I part and live behind as well) closed for renovations so I wasn't able to shower, on the 4th day of sponge bathing in the bathroom, my boss told me to either clean up or not show up. My carb had went on my car and I walked 3 miles to a local pool except it was closed and all the walking made me more smelly. I didn't show up the following day and was fired. It was really just a bad coincidence.

I applied to 50 other jobs afterwards with no references and got this gig as my only job offer. It was suppose to be taking care of animals and cleaning their pens until I slowly became more and more responsible for putting animals down and now I almost do that exclusively.

I find no joy in it. The animals feel no pain and drift into oblivion. I sometimes envy them.
