Pros:
80 mph feels like 50 mph
Seat is pretty damn comfy
Ergos are pretty good
Literal sex above 7k

Cons:
Only 43-45 mpg
Eats tires
Stock suspension is on the soft side [mine is already upgraded by PO]
Apparently needs better battery than stock

I love it.
>>
>>14048231
KEK!

Things to keep in mind:
I'm 6'4", you...aren't. The seat is high at my current adjustment, but I'm not sure that's the stock seat height.

If you don't want to buy it don't rev above 4k. The triple is sex. F'real.

Test ride all you can and buy what suits you.

i'm going to get a dualsport soon, probably a drz400s or wr250r, and i need a cross helmet. suggestions? i know, i know, watch the revzilla videos, but they dont really ever say anything bad (or good) that isn't super obvious, and it's not like they ride really test each product.
also, eventually i'll get some sumo tires for it, so what are you oponions on wearing the cross helmet on street? i hear the peak can drag wind and be uncomfortable, but do they perform okay in a street crash?
thanks

both reliable beginner dualsports. drz obviously a budget option sacrificing suspension and weight. wr has about the same speed, is lighter, and has FI but more costly. leaning toward drz because of cost. dr650 or xr600/650 also possible, but no good ones in my area right now.

thanks. they're better for beginners just because of weight then? are the drz's extra 25 lbs that much more difficult? i'll take your recs into consideration and ride both beforehand.
if i can brute force it on the drz when learning, i would save a lot of money for mods. wr is still pretty expensive. klx price is a bit more than drz tho, so it might be worth it. i'll need to look at the klx more though, that was my first search for them.

Tfw you compulsively buy a 2015 cbr500r with 4k miles at a dealership for 6.7k out the door. Tfw my age and speeding tickets would make full coverage insurance on a supersport rape my fucking anus. Electric bikes have crazy launch control built in. All of the Zero motorcycles could instantly loop out the second you try to open the throttle if their computer didn't regulate acceleration the way it does.
Its interesting because they have a supermoto model and they brag about how well it wheelies. They probably had to do tons of fine tuning to make it tamable.

I don't know how I feel about the Zero bikes lacking both a clutch and a trans. I wouldn't want to get in the habbit of not using them then go back to a normal bike and forget to shift.

Really? I'm paying for one on insurance and finiance, and I'm only paying about £120 a month over two years, which includes insurance an everything.

I do hate the A2 restriction though, as much as I love my 500, I'd kill for a 2012 Hornet 600.
>>
>>14048731
I saw your deleted comment. In Straya when you finance a vehicle from a dealer you usually have a day or two cooling off period.

But 1 month is too long.

Dont worry I bought a bike I shouldn't of. It was pure inpulse and the others on the market being twice the price, but they didnt need any work done. It all worked out in the end and only cost 600 to fix.

That and price is pretty much the only thing holding them back at the moment, but I can't see range being an issue for the type of riding that most people would want to do on the FXS.

The range on that bike is something like 140-150km for city riding isn't it? Highway range is rubbish but it's not really for that.

I'm really looking forward to electric motorcycles being in my price range.

The weight difference is under 10kg for a bike intended for city riding. Competitive bikes don't need much in the way if batteries and could quite possibly end up being lighter...

The availability of the power really can't be overlooked either. It's going to make a huge difference.

Electric bikes are superior as soon as the mileage and charging time get fixed. More torque, a better pwoerband, lower maintenance, just everything.

Fucking kek

does anyone remember that I talked about a 16yo Girl in my neighbourhood that got an electric bike for 12.000€?

Seems like they realized 2 hour charging time is not fun, it's up for sale not even after 2 weeks.
>>
>>14049483
You really don't get it do you? Either that or you have to be shit posting.

Electric bikes can make way more power over a much larger power band and not weigh any extra.

The moment you start factoring in maintenance and running costs it just becomes a no brainer.

>>14049514
Basically this. Once the range issue is sorted, like it or not, they're just better. Even that is getting there, some of these new electric bikes have ranges clearing 300km.

>>14049541
Depends what you're doing. There's no reason I wouldn't use an electric bike for commuting. The charge time would make no difference to me.
>>
>>14049514

You can concentrate more on your lines and going fast as fuck instead of ever worrying about gears.

yea, noise and speed. they go together. Imagine drifting or F1 completely silent. Not very appealing. Speed and efficiency isn't everything.

No they aren't? City range on some of the new Zero stuff is 140km-300km. That's plenty for a commute and most rides around the city. Hell some of their bikes will go further on a charge than my bike will go on a full tank.

They'll be massively useful in the future for industries like post as well.

Electric bikes don't have to be held wide open. Maximum torque straight away.
>>

Once again implying there isn't noise. Jesus it's like you guys haven't even watched any leccy bike videos. Also if you're racing, speed is everything. And once they become the norm in racing, every other wannabe racer will want one too. You won't be able to use full throttle at all... just like on a 450...
450's are already too god damned powerful for the race track and they are 55-60bhp.
You realise 4 strokes have smooth power delivery right?
The same thing happens when a 250 4 stroke races a 450 4 stroke on a strack that is not big enough for the 450 to make up time on straights and it is literally because of a few kilograms in weight and the things having too much go for their own good.
>>
>>14049584
>No they aren't?
are you stupid?
they cost 12.000€

A used 250 costs 1200€. If you're commuting you want it to be economical and you will never break even with the e-bike, the 250 will always be cheaper in the current state of e-bikes.

Besides that you can use the 250 for more than commuting. So it's the better choice in all aspects.

You're really scraping the bottom of the barrel for these counter points. Like it or not electric vehicles are the future.

Also >>14049587 electric racing is hardly silent.

>>14049599
Electric bikes were four times that less than five years ago.

>on/off switch
This is just wrong.

>>14049601
You're still acting like electric bikes are super heavy. They aren't. The instant torque will just let them get more out of shorter straights.

>>14049612
Price is literally your only counter point here. Even the people who like electric bikes have said that's one of the hurdles right now.

Some models start at $8,500, and the dealerships help you work out whatever federal and state tax credits you're eligible for. As of right now I think theres at least one federal tax credit for $1,000 that you can get for buying an electric bike.
They don't need oil, you never have to do a rebuild, clean anything, and electricity in most places is significantly cheaper than gasoline.

Batteries definitely have a very long way to go, but for city commuting some of these electric bikes do just fine.
>>
>>14049627
Well if you have money you don't get a shitty 12k€ either.

>>14049631
>Price is literally your only counter point

Price/Performance ratio, Mileage, Charging time. The big 3 problems.

If they fix that they're the better choice but as I said for now there is no reason to get one over a IC bike except you want to be a special snowflake.
>>
>>14049641
>they nearly weigh as much as a fully loaded KTM690 for christ sake.
Which ones do? The dual sports? What about the ones intended for mx?
>>
>>14049641
Not sure where you've come up with that. See >>14049129 that's a bike intended for street use. Cut the batteries back to exactly what you need and that difference is gone.

Either way I'm out time to sleep. Keep being ignorant if it makes you happy.
>>
>>14049647
Even if they cost only 6000$, you won't spend 4000$ on maintaining and gas for a 250 or even a 650. You will never break even.
