The Grand National did not have a 3800 you dolt. And the GN's engine was was a 231 not a 215.

You are right on one aspect, the 3800's were inspired from the turbo 6 of the same displacement, but they didn't really share much of anything with the original, with the exception of the series 2 supercharged that shared more, but I forget exactly what. Also, The turbo 3.8 was meant to be mounted laterally for RWD applications, while the 3800's were meant to be mounted transversely for FWD applications.

I had a 3 speed auto iron duke.
I don't know how it was able to get up to highway speed but it managed.
I think about it now and I don't how I lived with that shitbox but I guess looking back being my first car at 16 I'd take anything.
