>>
Yes.
Yes.

If it's recommended then just buy regular, if it's required then you're a retard not to buy it.
>>
>>14039372
yes
yes

the unicorns require it
>>
>>14039372

The lowest octane rating you can get in my country is 95. Cars requirement is 95 octanes, although im not sure. I would have to check the owners manual.
>>
It's just recommended for mine. I put premium in because I don't drive enough to give a shit (it's like an extra $5 every 45 days) and allegedly Honda's ERT is mildly retarded.
>>
>>14039372
Yes
Yes.

>>14039438
Rating system varies by country
>>
>>14039372
Yes and yes
If the car says it needs it then it needs it
>>
>>14039438
octane rating in europe is higher than in north america
>>
>>14039372
Yes, and Yes. Car is actually tuned for 93 but it's hard as fuck to find around here so I have to use an octane booster. Gigantic "PREMIUM FUEL ONLY" on the fuel door is pretty obvious, friend has the same car and he puts 87 in because he's cheap.. fucker's engine is probably dying
>>
If you can't understand octane ratings, you shouldn't be driving.
>>
>Car requires regular
You're a fucking idiot for putting in premium and are literally pissing your money away
>Car recommends premium
Less clear - you can probably get away with regular just fine (you might be hurting your engine life but only in the longest-term sense - well over 100k miles before you'd see a problem). More importantly though is that your fuel economy will drop so it depends on the car for how much money you actually save by not buying premium
>Car requires premium
You are ruining your car by putting anything other than premium in it
>>
Mine actually requires 93...
>>
>>14039372

I'll see your 91 and raise you a bottle of lead substitute.
>>
My Miata and Corvettes require 93. My Focus will run on lower, but I always get 93.

Found the winner.

Don't do this.
>>
93, 93

What do Californians do? I've only seen up to 91 sold in California, but I've seen plenty of cars that normally require 93.
>>
>>14039461
95 euro octane is 92 American octane

I literally cannot buy fuel of lower octane than 95

Yes.
Yes.

We use a different thing down here, 91, 95 and 98 octane.

In Texas it's 87, 89 and 93, my cars all recommend 91 octane.

Ususally

If I'm really broke, I'll put in regular. But my car is no longer a sports car so I don't think it minds much.
>>
>>14039372
My car runs on 98 octane but it's tuned for it

Don't know what that compares too internationally I'm in New Zealand

You guys have random gas stations where you can get 100 octane?
I can only get it at the track.
>>
Because of the tune on my car, I can set the ECU to take 89, 91, 93, or 100 octane through my smartphone.

I've never changed it from 93 but hopefully soon I can do another track day and try out the 100 tune.
