Under 5k, what shitbox jas the fastest 0-60 time?
Probably a DSM or 1st gen STI
If you're in Amerifatistan then I don't know
>>14034948
Are you talking stock?
Cause there are many shit boxes you could buy for like 2-3k and then turbo for fast 0-60 times.
>>14034948
LT1 Corvette.
>>14034960
Yes stock 0-60 times
>>14034948
Could always get an old screamer R1, they're around 2.8 to 60. Otherwise I'd probably say >>14034963 or a similar car.
6 speed c4
>>14035921
MCN recorded 2.35 seconds for the 2005-2006 GSXR 1000
I think those can still be had for right around 5k
>>14035939
Just different gearing really. R1 would be the same if you geared it down a bit, Yamaha goes with absurdly tall gears.
Any of those would be the ticket though, mainly said R1 since you can grab early 2000 carby models for next to nothing now.

>>14035939
Hayabusa
>>14036088
Accelerates slower than a litre bike. More stable at high speed though. Hayabusa are pretty heavy after all.
>>14034948
Theres a reason why the C4 is in the sticky op, inb4 bench racers start screaming ITT about the c4.
LS1 fbodys with a 6 speed were recorded at 4.8 sec 0-60
i've seen some under 5K
>>14034948
ae86 of course. its the best at everything.
>what shitbox
>motorcycles
Also, nobody actually gets near those times in reality, go to the amateur drags sometime and watch "9 second bikes" run 14s all day, and that's on a prepped track. Unlike with cars amateur riders aren't going to be able to get near the max acceleration numbers especially on the street.
>>14034948
B swapped CRX/EF Hatch. Fun wheel drive FTW
>>14037987
Yeah no. Both statements are wrong
>>14034957
>DSM
>anywhere besides clapistan
>>14038138
> go to drags
> 500hp+ v8s with radials running 15s
yeah its totally one way right
Someone post the video of that hellcat running a 17
>>14034963
>>14035924
>>14036785
Where the fuck in this country are you finding those things in running condition for <$5k
>>14038138
If you want to go fast 0-60 a bike is the way to go. Yes, most riders won't get anywhere near full acceleration, but a lazy takeoff on a bike will still blitz a car usually.
Also this >>14039894 we've all seen professionals or regulars rocking up to amateur drags in minivans and making it to finals.
>>14039863
>what is Canada?
1st gen STIs don't exist in America
>>14039928
2 posters in FL post on /o/ that I've seen one of them got one for $2500 (he had to replace the racking pinion) and the other one was around $3700 if i recall.
>>14040053
Yeah, I found some in my area that cheap after checking again, just had to unfilter automatics.
>>14040443
Tbh I'm not sure what they have. I do that the manual option wasn't a popular pick back then. After going to a couple of vette meets I've only seen 1 manual C4 and maybe ~5 manual C5s
>>14034948
I believe you could get some of the old evos and stis under 4.5 seconds if you were brutal enough.
