It was a steaming piece of shit to begin with

They disjointed an intrepid drivetrain putting the transacted in the back and the woeful 3.5 sohc up front. Would've been cool with a stealth/3k FWD transacted and vr4/rtt engine
>>

They made this great looking front end and then put some hideous boomer shit behind it instead of a formula-style 2 seater with a windshield and a convertible top.

Where does the exhaust go? That looks so cramped. I want to believe.

I reckon a 2jz would do these things well.

Mitsuokas, pao, s cargo, be 1, figaro, Excalibur, New beetle, thunderbird, hhr, pt. They're all pretty bad except for the pony cars

This proves the fucking point right here. The V8 gives it the sound to go along with the "retro hot rod" looks.

The V6 sounds like the VQ35 in my roommate's Infiniti.

>>14032244
Well, you can't with that attitude. But it's been done multiple times.
>>
>>14032382
That v6 actually sounds pretty good.
v8 doesn't sound nearly as good as I hoped ;~; Still good though.

That was pretty much a custom-everything job. The hood alone had a humungous bulge in it. God knows how much he spent in total.

Besides the 6.1 didn't exist until several years after the prowler ended production.
>>
>>14032467
In my opinion he would have been better off with the 5.7, i feel like it would have been easier to fit.

V8 needed a better pipe setup.

>>
>>14032264
They were never going to put a Mitsubishi drivetrain in it. Shame, since it would have been pretty good if they did.
>>
what ever goes right with a chrysler product.

not the suspension
>>
>>14032562
I know, too bad.

They prob used the 3.5 because it was already longitudinal in the lh cars. Split the drivetrain, add a torque tube, take boomer dollars.
>>
>>14032241
The problem was that Chrysler at the time didn't have a V8 good enough at the time. The 5.2L and 5.9L Magnum V8 were both heavier than the V6 and didn't significantly make any more power.

How is it a meme?

It's rarely brought up here.
>>
>>14032890

Meme is just the new millenial term for "unaccaptable; not cool." Kinda like how kids used to use the word "gay" to describe something they didn't like. Since some of those people are actually homosexual, they picked a new word and settled on "meme."
>>
I've always thought these were neat cars. The V6 is fine with me. I just wish it had a 5spd.

I think people often forget that the car was really lightweight and handling very good for a car of that era.

They had a v8 version that was scrapped due to low prowler sales. The Howler with the 4.7L v8 from the cherokee.

Got any ass shots?
>>
A. Those shit-tier mandatory bumpers In the front and the back ruined its looks

B. Not offered with a V8, which would have boosted its appeal

C. Not marketed enough, turned from Plymouth's new direction into a dead-end coupe

D. Overpriced, just like every other retro-designed car

Its really sad how much of a failure the whole retro-modern design movement was. It wasn't even the designers' fault, it was the fault of executives who thought they could pull a fast one on consumers in a time when their brands were slowly failing and spiraling towards bankruptcy

>They had a v8 version that was scrapped due to low prowler sales. The Howler with the 4.7L v8 from the cherokee.

The Howler concept was just a one-off show car for the 1999 SEMA expo. It was far from finished. None of the gauges worked, the seating position was noted to have sucked because the clutch had a long travel, and it couldn't go much faster than 40mph (a common practice with powered concept vehicles). It also lacked the regulated bumpers. Obviously the Howler was never meant to be put on the road.

Also, you have to remember that the Prowler was always intended to be a limited production vehicle. Such cars never see any significant updates. The fact that Chrysler even continued production after the demise of Plymouth as a brand was only possible because it was part of a larger parent company. And Chrysler sure as hell wasn't going to spend the money and time to develop another powertrain option for a car that was going to be out of production by the time it was ready for consumers. Keep in mind that the Prowler finished production in 2002 and the Howler would've needed at least another year to actually make it a feasible car to be sold to the public.

I'm homo and I call shit "gay" and people that are acting stupid "faggots" all the time. People that can't deal with that need to realize that homophobia has worked it's way into our language and the terms have become general insults and the original homophobic meanings are gone now. Mostly.
