Stainless steel axle back straight pipes
I got some new nomex driving gloves, the old ones were getting pretty ratty.
nothing im poor

Bro, you're not supposed to get Bilstein coilovers. You get the normal struts and then put sleeves over them. PSS9s are shit.
>>14031376
>You get the normal struts and then put sleeves over them
literally what
>>14031376
That isn't a "coilover" it's a strut.
Ball joints
>>14031386
You get a strut like this, then you put a threaded sleeve around it for spring preload adjustment.
>>14031393
That's a coilover by any use of the term. Coilover is short for "coil over damper," as opposed to having a separate spring somewhere else. It's come to mean any shock with a threaded body for preloaded adjustment.
>>14031414
Derp. Like this.
>>14031393
A Macpherson strut is a type of coilover.
New radiator
IWG to help with surging.
>>14031414
a strut with a threaded body is still a strut.
New handbrake cables and pads
>>14031425
It's also what people are talking about when they say "put coilovers on it." Or did you think they were saying to convert to double wishbones?
>>14031436
no, they mean converting the rear to a coilover with a matching front strut. or converting to coilover on a solid axle.
no one irl calls a strut a coilover
>>14031456
So if people irl only use coilover to refer to any coil over any damper, why do people with factory coilover setups like basically every Japanese sports car for the last 40 years talk about converting to coilovers?
>>14031485
because they are retarded ricers
>>14031376
>>14031417
just using a threaded body doesnt give you adjustable dampening like op's
installed the twin scroll. Have to fab up a small adapter to get downpipe to reach turbo.
>>14031523
that looks like a job for tiny hands
>>14031500
>hurr everyone in the world but me is retarded because I don't agree with their terminology
Anyway, back to the point. PSS9s don't use Bilstein's normal internals, and they're not even close to as good. The adjusters have like 15 clicks, but only 2 of those settings do anything, and the settings are different depending on whether your going from hard to soft or soft to hard, and they're vastly different from strut to strut.
>>14031523
you should work on making it not fwd
>>14031520
Adjustable damping is only useful if it's precise and repeatable. Otherwise it's a useless feature that's only going to give you the tools to make your car worse. Bilstein's adjuster system is notoriously bad, which is why you should just get the cheap struts and have them valved to your specifications at a circle track shop for ~$300/set. Most places can give you a decent setup if you give them your corner weights, spring rates, and motion ratios.
>>14031417
But you can't mount coil overs to those front SHOCKS. Because thats what it is is a SHOCK. Op bought adjustable struts.
>>14031560
These are coilovers you idiot you buy strut mounts seperate
>>14031539
might get a junk CRX body one day and put it in the back. doubtful though.

Look down at sleeve type coilovers
>>14031560
>Pay someone $5 to cut a groove in it on a lathe
>Put a $0.50 snap ring in the groove
>Set a $7 eBay coilover sleeve on the snap ring
>Congratulations, you have coilovers with spring preload adjustment and decent valving
>>14031570
why the cam cover breather? what is the stock crankcase ventilation like on that?
jw as I wanna avoid using RB26 cam covers on my RB20
>>14031594
The piston to wall and ring gap I set necessitates the use of an auxilary breather system. b18b block doesn't have a PCV system in the block so this is the only way to vent. Build it loose to last. This engine has 8k miles on it now and over 60 track hits.
>>14031282
I brought a shortthrow dipstick for my civic
>>14031567
Where is the bottom stop where your strut spring rides? Those are front shocks for a T bar setup.
>>14031584
>Here lemme just chop up my new shocks so I can stance my shitbox.
Love you too /o/
>>14031614
Doesn't it breathe out the bottom of the block then? Is that different to other B series blocks?
I have no idea what I'm doing so will be copying an OEM
>>14031628
>The only reason for preload adjustment is for stance
Maybe you should be shitting on OP's choice of struts, then.
>>14031639
no JDM LS blocks have a m28x1.25 plug that replaces the charcoal canister/PCV system. There are kits you can buy to install this but I left it out. 1 -12AN is plenty ventilation for this engine.
>>14031653
I never said a word about OPs bad choices, only that what he posted was not a strut by appearance or definition.
And I do know the advantages of adjustable preload ad how it relates to tuning your rebound and damping settings.
>>14031672
Okay, so we can agree that spring preload adjustment is a good thing and that shitty damping adjustment that exists only for autists to spin dials and not for actual suspension tuning is a bad thing. The struts pictured in >>14031417 are for a Mustang or some shit; obviously OP would use struts designed to fit his vehicle.
>>14031662
i'm guessing if you're venting off the cam cover then it means insufficient breathing in the crankcase. Personally I would have copied the factory solution and just upped the size of the pipework to suit.
I'll be doing it off the block and through an air/oil separator, and keep the drains for drainage. Probably 2x12AN, but it means drilling the block which is a bit sketchy imo
>>14031282
>/threading the OP
>>14031694
Yes I agree on all fronts. Why you would immediately choose a set of bare Bilsteins as an example pic threw me off. I still say that the pic>>14031417 is showing a front shock for a T bar suspension.
>>14031711
yeah the b series crank ventilation is lackluster at best. for the RB I would probably run 2 -10AN one on each side of the cover. run off the back side for a cleaner look.
>>14031740
I just posted the first set of Bilstein struts I found on Google. The point was that they weren't threaded body adjustables.
>>14031740
>is showing a front shock for a T bar suspension.
I really don't know how you came up with that one.
>>14031785
no senpai i'm looking to not run anything off the cam cover and keep my retro looking R31 covers. I'll probably copy the WRC Ford YB Cosworth solution as I can't find what the Skyline racers did. Breathing from the bottom of the block gets it at source but the difference is I have the turbo drains on the "wrong" side so I need to drill holes in a cast iron block which makes my arse twitch to think about.
I guess RB blocks are cheap so if it cracks fuck it.
>>14031417
you're not gonna put a threaded sleeve on that you means something like pic related.
they're called inserts
>>14031827
>on that you means something like
All of these words mean something, but not when they're in that order. Can you try that again?
>>14031815
Late RWD Chrysler platform in the 1970s used a combo of T Bars and a pivot shock (Not a strut as it had no spring) for the front suspension. Not a very common system, but i'm also a Mopar guy so there is that.
>>14031842
nah m8
>>14031845
Pretty sure it's from a Mustang.
