SVT focus is a good choice.

when you get in hold the push the clutch in while it's running, and then let it back out if you hear clicking the DM-flywheel needs replacing soon. Also check for any leaks under the thermostat housing, it likes to split or have the o-ring on the plug fail.

If you have the money look into the Focus ST's. I test drove one and loved it. Really fun but practical car and the torque steer isn't to bad.
