Ok guys. Some of you know my Corolla FX.
It's got the old 4ac engine over 323k miles
I would like some more "pep" and can't decide what engine would be fun, easy, and maybe save a few bucks.
Keep in mind I'll have to change from mechanical fuel pump to high pressure.
>4afe
Easy to find. Lots of parts available. Easy to get the ecu and harness from a junk yard
>7afe
Pretty much the same deal as the 4afe
>4age
I already have two heads lying around and intake and what not. Hard part is finding the ecu and wiring for this car.
>7age
Little more pep. Still harder to find ecu and harness
>20v
Fuck all and go crazy
>other notes
My current engine has brand new seals all around. New timing belt. Doesn't leak a drop of oil. So there's the option of just slapping on a Webber carb and running it till it dies!!!
>measuring engines in pep
>>14017752
webber carb, don't waste time and money on another engine.
its a yota, drive it till it dies
>>14017867
Lol yeah. It's a 2100lb shitbox.
Not going for any HP records here.
12a swap or go home
>>14017883
Might cost a bit to make it fit the transmission....
1zz or 2zz
4efte
>>14017899
2zz would be too much for this car.
1ZZ would be ok but then I'm looking at customs mounts and wiring nightmare.
I thought about a 1nzfe from a yaris.
All aluminum and fits my current trans
>>14017752
be different 3SGTE. but you will have to spend a few bucks to get it under the hood or if you dont want to go that far 4AGZE the supercharged version from a aw11 MR2
if you want 20v easiest way is to buy a toyota levin front cut comes with all the running gear and ecu just up to your skill level to hybrid up the loom...
>>14017913
do that then, plenty of "pep"
ls1
>>14017947
And would lighten the car for extra "pep"
>>14017937
I can get an entire wrecked 4afe or 7afe corolla for $300-$500 though
>>14017971
increase pep to lub ratio
Just cobble together a draw through turbo setup.

I see a bent rod happening on my first pull.
No thanks
>>14017913
>2zz too much
nigger people 3SGTE swap them.
as for finding ECU's just get an aftermarket one
great investment as you can fit it in any of your next cars.
>>14018814
>3SGTE
Too much.
I'm not building a go fast car. Its a shitbox I got for $300.
I'm not going to spend thousands doing a complicated engine swap
>>14017867
>not measuring your vehicles in peps per shekel
>>14017880
Get a new car idiot.
>>14018855
>peps per shekel
New meme plz?
make your own loom and just go aftermarket ecu what are you a fuckin pleb?
the fact that you are even asking /o/ signifies only one thing: you cant do any of these swaps.
>>14018860
I have 4
So no.
>>14018863
Huh?
I've done them before.
Sorry for wanting to talk about cars with car peoples.
4AGE Silvertop.
Get a 4age+ecu from a junkyard. Nothing special but it will have lower miles and more power. With how common that motor is I would be amazed if you couldn't buy or hack up the wiring.
>>14018869
>>14018825
If you are thinking of engine swaps then your already thinking more money then it going to cost to get a new car.
just sell the piece of shit, buy a newer shitbox.
>>14018897
No. I like my shitbox and I have 3 other cars already.
This is a fun project. And like I said above. I can get a whole car for $300 to $500 and swap over all the engine and harness and such.
Just wanted to have a fun discussion on peps per dollar m8.
Don't be so salty
>>14018873
no you havent
>>14018924
Oh ok. I guess I haven't cuz you said so.
Why the h8 m8?
5e fhe
>>14018916
If your doing a fun project cause it fun, then go fuck out with it. get a fucking good engine to put in it.
