>>14014939
It's true. High HP RWD systems lose grip with road because of the front's tendency to lift, thereby slightly reducing the normal that is needed for friction. Sure, it can be lowered to reduce this effect, but it's nothing like increasing downforce/normal force.

no handicaps for RWD.
>>14015257
Is that max 2.0 liter on the dot or just the 2.0 range
I hear if you want to rally it's best to start FF, truth ?
Is rwd only good for durrifto and top land speed attempts

>>14015269
rwd is better for everything except rally
>>14015275
i have an AW11 registered this year, i raced a mazda capella AWD last year. There are no handicaps other than the drivers themselves.
if RWD had an advantage the top cars would be RWD regardless of driver skill. people take this way too seriously to be racing a sub-optimal car.
>>14015269
The FF rally idea comes from how real rally AWD cars handle (most road going AWD cars are different)
A rally built AWD car actually handles more like a FWD car than a RWD car, so entering at the FWD level gives you good driving habits to move on up to AWD.
I have alot of bad habits coming from rallying MR2's as they dont have anywhere near the same pendulum effect.
>>14015326
But I'm FF
I'm inferior
I'm nothing
>>14015275
this year has 4 grids of 30 cars now. its the largest event by number of drivers.
laste year had 3 grids, with around 33/34 cars per grid.
>>14015326
>The FF rally idea comes from how real rally AWD cars handle (most road going AWD cars are different)
objectively wrong.
rally cars are 50/50 distribution.
road going cars are either 50/50 or only slightly biased in either direction.
fwd is better than rwd in rally because you can pull the front of the car with throttle.
fwd is just better in rally, there's no other reason. the 2wd rally classes arent limited to fwd, fwd is just better in that type of low grip racing so almost everyone uses it. rwd has an advantage on clean tarmac stages.
As far as fwd being faster in some random club event with bad drivers. literally meaningless. in real racing series fwd gets BOP to make them competitive.
>>14014753
congratulations its faster than a 4 door landbarge
>>14015413
and the civic is a fwd 4 door landbarge
>>14015367
wat
mate seriously
WRC power distribution is not fixed since it would cause serious transmission issues on tarmac stages this is basic AWD 101
Shit they penned a no-center-diff rule in 2010 but it was never implemented because all the manufacturers complained
Roadgoing AWD's are heavily front biased or even "Front only with optional rear mode" unless youre driving a truck (or a pile of shit from the 70's).
Also 2WD rally is heavily dominated by RWD cars, porsche are currently tearing shit up and theres nothing anyone can do to stop them. much like Ford back in the pre-AWD days.
>>14015423
>WRC power distribution is not fixed
Of course it's not fixed they have center diffs. Road cars aren't fixed either. But when traction is equal it's split 50:50.
>roadgoing AWD's are heavily front biased
no. subarus are 45:55
>2wd rally dominated by rwd
this is just wrong. porsche isn't even in a wrc class except for RGT. the rest of the R cars are mostly fwd.
idk where or what series your grabbing this from, but for wrc it's not true.
it's just not true in general, it's common knowledge that fwd > rwd in low grip like gravel, snow, sand, etc.
Inb4 some retards claim fwd can't drift, learn to torque vectoring.
>>14014965
The Nissan GT-R Nismo was slower than a 60's french fwd racer, powered by a naturally aspirated 0,6 liter 2 cylinder (37 cubic inches and no, that is not a typo).
Nissan fucked up, beyond any layout.

Why do modern fwd cars have front overhangs anyway?
I never watched Initial D apart from quick glances on [as] but I know some of the characters have Civics. Why do they drive them? Isn't Initial D about drifting or some shit, so what's with the Civics?
>>14021607
The gt3 driver was probably 50% throttle while the shit box had to do everything it could to keep up
>>14022236
No, it's not about drifting, it's all about the touge, in other words, driving on small public roads in the mountains as fast as you can. The cars that feature there are ones that the japanese audience supposedly has acess to, which is why they're mostly japanese shitboxes/cheap sports cars.
Overrev, which is the manga in the OP, is actually more balanced in it's car variety.
>>14022236
>isn't Initial D about drifting
No. It's about racing, and some (read: most) of them use flamboyant drifts to go meme fast

The engine has a capacity of 0,75 liters rather than 0,6 though. It also won the "Index of Performance" throphy, for low capacity engines. Sure the track layout may be different, but it also had 60's tires, 60's fuel, and 60's technology.

stop shilling
Kekwhwelsruve
Except that he clearly starts doing donuts from a standstill, because he can brake the inner wheel making all the power go to the outside wheel, thus turning the car. Not having wheels is just for the sparks.
First car ever was FWD.
>>14015367
Anything more than around 35% of the power to the front wheels turns the car into and understeering pig while off power. Trying to tune out the understeer with suspension means the first time you lift it will spin you around and ram a tree up your ass.
