Hey guys, I've come across some cash to burn and of course, as any sensible guy would, I'm spending it all on car parts. I own a 1999 E46 3 Series and i need some absolutely honest inquiries. What are the best visual modifications (non ricer)? What are the best M3 rims? Best sound system replacement? What pieces like to break on these cars?
Price is not particularly an object, but I'm not trying to overhaul the engine or anything. The car was purchased for $2,400.
best wheels in my opinion are alpinas
as far as non ricer visual mods, probably a csl trunk and a csl style carbon splitter.

what engine? 1.9 petrol?
>>14010653
best wheels for an e46 coupe would be bmw style 5`s or bbs rs`s
>>14010909
2.5
My 01 has ZCP wheels.
Will never change them.

E39 master race

Oops.

Is that an M?

The rear subframe is known to crack on these occasionally, there's reinforcement kits to prevent this though.

Hi friends. I use the stock 19" style 67 for summer, and for winter I recently picked up some asa gt5s, they look bretty good.
>>14011457
Yep.

o hi friend :3
is dat yours
>>14011586
Yep. My baby.
103k. 6 speed. Titan silver on black.
TSX is mine too.
The M3 is a better driver than the Acura and I am the 2nd owner on that one. Was babied and still is and still, cannot match the M3 in comfort and obviously power

the ZCP style looks good, and Forgestar F14s look even better

These

I have OEM LEDS for mine. Never put on. Those look good though.

Nice. 109k miles, sequential. I've had it about 6 years, 2nd owner. Thing is a blast to drive. Just got some swaybar end links in earlier, ordered rogue rtabs gonna get em installed next week.
I like these cars because of the headlights.
That is all.
who /m3gtr/ here?

Very nice
Does anybody know of perhaps a reputable source for seat replacements? Or maybe a good diy link? Seats going to shit unfortunately

May I recommend a few things that are small but really pull together the look of the e46
-angel eyes
-color matching front and side reflectors
-smoked front turn signals
-slightly smoked rear lights (you can get a lamin-x kit on their website)
-shocks & springs. drop the car about an inch and it will look super nice and not super low
That's essentially what I did, along with some slotted rotors and headers for some sound. It kept it relatively stock looking and turned. Front splitters and rear diffusers can add some aggressiveness as well.

Wow, it looks really nice. If my car were a darker color, I'd be getting smoked tails. You can't REALLY see the color, but it's BMW's signature blue-gray color. I am gonna retrofit xenons onto the car, change every bulb into an led (except fog lights, of course)
Soon enough, I'll retrofit the first aid kit as well as fire extinguisher kit onto the front seats. I plan on dropping 500 into the bavsound upgrade for the e46. If nobody knows this, it is the only way to get a true direct fit, without creating any permanent modification to your car. Pricey, but worth it, i think.

Also, what style rim is your wheel set? I've been looking all over for those exact rims
>>14013754
Will definitely get some angel eyes in the future
>>14013800
Mine is carbon black. It's a dark blue in certain light, like this photo.
>>14013807
The ones in the photo you quoted are the stock 19" style 67s. They also have 18" style 67s.
>>14013873
Look at the brand Khoalty. I've used em for 5 years and they are great.
Modbargains.com has a lot of good stuff for e46s

I've been wondering if I should take my tint off. It looks much cleaner
>>14013996
I've always wanted to just get a teeny bit of tint, but I've always figured the place would botch it and never did.
